Stauf's Coffee Roasters

📍 Address: 1277 Grandview Ave, Columbus

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

What a cool place! The food is pretty good but the atmosphere and coffee more than makes up for it. I really enjoyed hanging out there and eating some breakfast. I'd really like to go there with a book and hang out for an afternoon. This is a good place with a good vibe.

Boston Pizza

Came here over the weekend for dinner. Was fairly full but there were a few tables open so was lucky to be seated right away. The server took the order and we got the Southwest Flatbread to start. The Southwest Flatbread came out in a reasonable time. It has chicken, bacon, and topped off with delicious sauces. Everything goes well with one another. Definitely recommended IF you do come here. For my main, I had the steak and veggies. I substituted the veggies for cactus cut potatoes. And this is where it starts to go downhill. The steak is a 7oz New York strip loin. I had it medium rare and it was pink inside (y). However for some reason it was very bland. Had little to no taste at all. Even if it had some charring on the outside would had helped it greatly. I know it's questionable for someone to eat steak at a pizza place and after all it's $17, but still. The cactus cut potatoes was a mistake. It too was bland. But worse it was quite tough and the texture felt very stale. Kind of like when you are at a Chinese restaurant and you have crispy chicken with the coloured chips.. And the chips aren't fresh. It was like that or eating cardboard. The mashed potatoes were okay. Nothing to rave about here. After "finishing" the main, decided to have dessert. Took a little while to flag down the server to order the chocolate brownie which comes with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Then an even greater wait began. It probably took at least 10 to 15 minutes before the dessert came out. Not sure if this is normal for the dessert to take so long. I personally felt it was unreasonable. Anyway when the dessert finally came, we asked for the bill right away since the dessert took forever to arrive. It seemed like it was a difficult night to get a hold of anyone. It was during the dinner rush, but I did not feel it was chaotic. There was no sense of urgency. I must admit the brownie was warm when it finally arrived. Perhaps they make/bake it to order and hence the lengthy wait? The ice cream is really good, but the brownie is very sweet. Overall it is a good dessert, but absolutely not worth the 10 to 15 minute wait. We finish what we can with the dessert and tried to find our server or anyone so we can pay and get the heck out. You would think since we asked for the bill right when we got the dessert it would suggest we are ready to pay asap. Nope not tonight. After a good five minutes go by, I gave up and decided to go right up to pay. Found our server on the side. She was chatting with another server. Overall it was quite the negative experience for me. My main course was subpar. The starter and dessert were above average. But the real kicker was the service. It's not that the staff or our server was rude, but the service was non existent when we actually needed it. Like when we wanted a dessert menu to order more food, or to pay for our meal. Oh and did I mention the lengthy wait for dessert? I was actually kind of struggling to decide if this will be a 1 or 2 star rating. The ambiance is actually not bad and the decor looks nice inside. Looks-wise, it would be a decent place to watch the game or have drinks. But usually when I am stuck on a rating it comes down to service.

Brookline Lunch

📍 Address: 9 Brookline St, Cambridge

The service was pleasant and the dollar value was good. The Greek omelettes were served as an odd jumble- almost as if they intentionally layered the home fried potatoes on the bottom, then a plain egg omelette and then the assorted vegetables on the top outside of the omelette. It wasn't inedible but it wasn't great either. Many of the vegetables were actually undercooked. The compote they brought out for the toast was interesting and good. Coffee was strong and the OJ regular diner quality.

La Cancun

Food is amazing. Portions are huge. I am in love with so many items on their menu that I cant list them all. However they do have on set back. If you order the food their by phone for pick up you better speak spanish or else your order will not come out correctly. I never have an order correct that I call in but when I am there I never have a mistake. My spanish is poor at best so I am sure it wouldnt help. So take the night off and go in for food. Its worth it.

Ssam Burger

📍 Address: 2072 Defoors Ferry Rd NW, Ste F, Atlanta

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5)

Yo, was I just really hungry or was it the bomb? Why I like this place, it's good and very affordable. 7 bucks get you a burger and a side. While that's nothing to write home about, I think the quality of what you get is amazing for the price you're getting. Tried two different burgers: Seoul burger and the aloha burger with sweet potato fries and lotus chips. Both burgers were cooked to medium. Slightly pink on the inside, which I love. I hate well done meats, I think it ruins everything, whereas this leaves the burger still juicy. The Seoul burger was good, I liked the aloha burger better. I liked how the arugula gave the seoul burger a contrast in texture and taste, and that ssam sauce, what's in it? I like that slight kick that it has. The aloha burger on the other hand, I thought was amazing. I personally like pineapples on my burgers, gives it a sweet taste with savory of the meat. If that's not your thing, perfectly ok. I don't judge you. I was told that the buns are the same as the H&F buns, I don't know if that's true or not, but it tastes pretty good. Holds the burger well with a slight chew. As for sides go, sweet potato fries are more like chunks with a simple syrup. Slight crunch, easily eaten with a fork, tastes like it was baked not fried, not a bad flavor. For the lotus chips, I liked these more than the sweet potato chips. I don't really understand what they are, but I know they're good. Thinly sliced, just a slight salty taste, I just wished I had more of them. They give you a pile but it just looks more than what's really there. Interior is sorta small, I would estimate about 25 people max seating space. I hope you're ok sitting next to someone you don't know because there's no individual table seating. There's 6 total burger choices, of which is 1 veggie option if you're into that. I think it's totally worth check out and coming back. I have 4 more burgers to try out before I can tell which one will be my favorite.
