Perfect for a romantic dinner or a nice sit down meal. The service was great and we were able to request a table by the window where the views are amazing all around. It's absolutely breathtaking to see the sunset. The food can be pricey, but definitely worth it. The steak and mashed potatoes were delicious, as well as the shrimp scampi. They have an amazing selection of wine as well. The server will recommend some depending on your particular taste. I will definitely return here when I visit Oregon again!

Pretty good, the guacamole was excellent. The side rice portion could feed Ethiopia! Wish the waitress would have said how big it was and we would have only gotten one side.....

I know my first review was praising Fernando's for its healthy options, but hot damn these folks make a quality burger. For an extra buck-fidy you can pile on some fries if that's your thing. The rotating specials will often include one of their burgers with a side of fries for a little less. Their selection offers a few different tasty topping options. I settled on the Fernando's special burger which comes with ham and bacon (Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal!), a fried egg, cheese, mushrooms and guac. An obvious winner with me, hitting two of my core beliefs which are that (a) if you're going to eat shit, go all out and do it right, and (b) at least 2/3rd of the savory food world can be improved by the addition of a fried egg. Fernando and I have some unfinished business in the form of a fire burger. Another day, another $5.

I agree with many of these recent reviews. Poor food, poor service. We had been here several years ago and enjoyed the experience. Since we were entertaining family from out of town, we thought we would treat them to a unique experience. Bad call. We had a 6 p.m. reservation on a cold Wednesday. We arrived at 6 p.m. and the door was locked! No valet either. Knocked on the door. Nothing. Knocked on the window. Nothing. Because it was cold, the 5 of us ducked into the restaurant next door to keep warm. I went back to see if I could get anyone's attention. By then, another group had arrived, it was 6:15 and the door was still locked! At that point I should have decided to just go somewhere else. Unfortunately, because we wanted our guests to have the "experience ", I opted to try going around to the back to see if anyone was there. I went into the kitchen and there was the staff busily prepping food! I'm not sure to whom they were planning to serve it, because the front door was still locked! I received profuse apologies from the hostess as she rushed through the restaurant to unlock the door. We were finally seated, but no offer of anything to compensate us for the inconvenience of having to wait for more than 20 minutes. As far as the meal was concerned, it was a big disappointment, especially for the price. The house sangria is little more than spiced up grape juice. If there is wine in it, it is really watered down. Outrageous price too. Our guests were polite to us about their main meals which, for the exorbitant cost, were paltry and uninspired. I ordered a lamb dish that was virtually inedible - all fat and bone for $57! Even the dessert was paltry - tiny little pieces of a spice cake with a few pieces of fresh fruit scattered around on the plate - for 5 people! The only parts of the meal that had any redeeming value was the soup and salad. Never again!

We had a friend visiting from out of town and we thought City Grill would be a fun place to grab a drink, and it was! You can't beat the epic views of the city from the 30th floor, and the ambiance is relaxing and luxe. My friend's hibiscus martini was tasty and my partner's terrific bloody mary had such an amazing amount of garnishes. He had his own small veggie salad on top! We also got the General Tso's calamari, which was incredible! It's a huge serving, perfect for 3 or 4 people, possibly a meal for two. And quite delicious! So why only 4 stars? Well, I ordered a bourbon and soda, but instead of bourbon and club soda, I received a bourbon and 7. This happens far too often in Portland, but I didn't expect it in such an upscale establishment. City Grill is pricey, but great for a special occasion. Or if you're rich, I guess you could just stroll on in whenever.

We got a coupon for this place on one of the restaurant deal websites just for a laid-back lunch. Getting to the restaurant was easy but construction in the area made parking a bit of a pain. We ended up parking in the lot behind the restaurant, which happened to be the lot for a convenience store under construction. There is a large covered patio area and a smaller enclosed dining room area. We chose to sit inside and we greeted by a chipper server named Ana. There was a bar in this dining area and there were probably about 10 draught beer on tap. I was able to get a sample of a few and I ended up choosing the Austin Amber. My friends chose to have the Ruby Red Margarita. I almost went in with them but it was a little too sweet for me. The price was good though...about $35 for a pitcher which could get about two glasses each for three people. We chose to start with an appetizer, the Queso Especial with grilled shrimp. It was flavorful and very tasty but, it left a nasty taste in my mouth later on. Sorry, TMI. After much discussion and multiple check-ins from our "saintly" waitress, I decided on the fried chicken salad and bleu cheese dressing. The chicken turned out to be a flattened breast cut into strips. It was breaded really well and very flavorful. The bleu cheese seemed to have a "Lawry's-type" seasoning mix added to it provided a good punch. Although this is probably a staple of college kids in the area (UT is about half-a-mile away), it would be a good little Saturday lunch spot if I lived in ATX.
