Veracruz All Natural

📍 Address: 2505 Webberville Rd, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

I came across this place a few years ago and tried to keep it a secret. Someone else must have blabbed bc I've watched their business explode. Even though the lines are longer, the food quality has remained at the top. I can't wait to see their new brick and mortar store opening next month!

Cafe Paisano

📍 Address: 182 W State Rd 434, Ste 1000, Longwood

Stars: (4.5)

Best pizza I've had in a while, great Italian food in general. It's always interesting to find such a good restaurant in a strip mall. We've been here several times and it's got a real family feel to the place.

The Breakfast Club

📍 Address: 270 Western Ave, Allston

Stars: (4)

Ive been coming to this place for the past 8 or so years and theres a reason this is my and my friends go to breakfast spot for so long. The food, service and atmosphere is everything!! So proud of breakfast club for the addition, the "new" booths are great and make it easier to eat here now that its popular and always busy (we used to squish 6 of us in one table in the original space) This place feels like home to me and time after time it continues to meet my expectations. The new fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing (wish it was 4.99 but hey) My go-to bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich: comes on an english muffin STANDARD and comes with home fries! The best. Other breakfast places these are all ad ons but not my breakfast club. I love this place and if you decide to give it a try i bet you'll love it too!

Uno Pizzeria & Grill

📍 Address: 280 Huntington Ave., Boston

Stars: (2.5)

This was the second time we had a horrible experience at this place. The food was mediocre, so I'm going to just focus on the service. Took 15 mins just to get water, another 30 mins to get refills on soda. On top of that, the waiter brought the wrong order out. Granted, he offered to re-order my meal, but I wasn't about to wait another hour to get my fill. Would never come back to this place again. Very disappointed.

Parish Cafe and Bar

📍 Address: 361 Boylston St, Boston

One of my friends from middle-school (!) was in town visiting, and after meandering around Boylston/Newbury St. for a bit, our group decided to eat here. I used to eat here a lot when I went to Emerson, but haven't been for a few years. In any case, I now remember why I used to go here so much. We got onion rings to share, which came with a great chipotle mayo (I do wish the onion ring batter had more flavor/salt, but that could just be me), but it wasn't anything too special. I couldn't decide between The Nebo (an Italian tuna sandwich), The Benny (a Vietnamese-style chicken sandwich), or The Spicy Tuna (basically sushi, sandwich-style). We were all having issues deciding what to get because everything sounded so good, but eventually my friends decided to get The Benny and the veggie wrap, and I ended up getting The Nebo. We were all wowed when the food came out--the sandwiches were huge and absolutely delicious! Definitely enough for two meals (in fact we all had leftovers). My sandwich had Italian tuna, tomatoes, red onions, hard-boiled egg, lettuce, olive tapenade, and an aioli, all on crusty bread, and came with a great green bean and tomato salad. I tried my friend's Benny sandwich-which was a special and recommended by our waitress-and I actually haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. It was a chicken cutlet, some sort of herb-flavored mayo, julienned veggies (I remember cucumbers and carrots), and a red cabbage slaw for the side. I need to go back and get this sandwich before the special changes... Anyhoo, we all really enjoyed our dinner at the Parish, and I would definitely recommend eating there. It's a great, laid-back place with great food...with good company you're guaranteed a good time.

Art of Tacos

📍 Address: 75 Rainey St, Austin

Stars: (3.5)

Since I've tried this place twice in the past month, I felt the need to share my experience. Growing up the Rio Grande Valley, I've had my fair share of tacos (maybe too many) so I feel like I can speak the truth about the "Art" of Tacos. First time I went there I ordered the beef fajita tacos without onions, so far - this being the best option on the menu I've encountered. The cilantro was fresh, beef fajita was plentiful and not too salty (I like bland food though). The two tacos were full of meat and pretty good by themselves as a meal. This last time I tried the Al Pastor tacos and was surprised to find that they were inconsistent with what I'm used to with Al Pastor. No pineapple? I would have preferred a little sweet on this taco since the meat was way too spicy for me. I'm not one for spice, but I like to challenge myself at times. The meat was alright, but not enough for me to order this taco again. I will return to Art of Tacos but I don't think they are the "Best Tacos in the World". They are "in the top 20 of Austin" but not in the world. Staff is always very friendly and cool - hard workers for sure.
