Third time is definitely the charm! I've been to Portland a couple times before but each time I've missed the opportunity to make it out to this well known restaurant. Lucky for me this time around we came during lunch on a weekday so we beat the rush. WOOHOO. We came around 11AM and we were seated immediately in their covered outside seating. So for this visit got to give it 5 stars since there was no wait! FOOD: 4.5 stars. It was reaaaaly close to give the full 5 stars but the grits were OK for me. + Chicken & Waffles - I loved how you can choose how large of an order you want starting from 1 piece of chicken up to 3 pieces. The chicken here is moist with great flavoring. The outside is crisp but not too oily. Winning. I was also surprised to find that they offered a sweet waffle to pair with the chicken. At first I thought it was carrot but it was actually sweet potato. It pairs well with the spice of the chicken and syrup. + Side of biscuits & sausage gravy (no eggs) - I love me some biscuits & gravy so this had to be the other entree we ordered. The biscuits here are flaky and the gravy was so rich with the sausage and herbs. Surprisingly I didn't feel too stuffed after we demolished both biscuits so I think it was a good option to not have the 2 eggs. + Cheese Grits - This side fell a little flat for me. I think I need to be in a grits mood to eat this, but it was a little too runny for my liking. It wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't my preference for grits. If you're curious it's worth trying. SERVICE: 5 Stars - Our waiter was super friendly and check in often to make sure everything was delicious and we had everything we needed. He was quick to greet us, take our order, and bring us our check. Will definitely come back here when I'm in town! :)
Little Big Burger

Food is decent. Staff is very unfriendly. We simply asked why it's so cold in the restaurant and the lady operating the front door rudely told us the heat was off. Also, when I asked what was on the special burger the advertised for, she straight up said: "look at the picture, I don't know..."
SuperPlay

I recently moved very close to SuperPlay and I started coming for the lounge area. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the staff. My favorite of the staff has been Thim. He is an excellent bartender and very attentive to his customers. His service definitely keeps me coming back. Also they have super good wifi.
Pica's Mexican Taqueria

Holy cow, this place is WICKEDLY overpriced for Mexican food. Way too trendy, not worth it at all. And we had a 20% off coupon! I wouldn't come back unless I had a 50% off coupon.

Worth the three hour wait?....!$?% YES (TBH my wife did the heavy lifting waiting in line for 2 1/2 hours before I arrived). By the time we were at the register all that was left was Brisket and one half piece of sausage... BUT THATS WHAT I CAME FOR!!! (Claps hands emphatically). Best Brisket I've ever had. Period. Ordered a pound at its steep $25 per pound price and was treated to a plethora or flavors and tenderness profiles and levels of juice. My favorite was the best fatty pieces that had the perfect level of tenderness and flavor. We also had the sausage which was delicious. Will wait for the juiciness again!!

They made me wait 30 minutes on sandwiches because I ordered with greens and I guess they ran out?! Not a place you can afford if you are on schedule.
