Sushi Home

📍 Address: 509 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver

Stars: (3.5)

Wish I could leave a no star review. The servers here are rude and just not helpful at all. All they want is money money money. They don't care about the customers, and force you to pay 6$ to just stay in their teeny eating area where you pretty much have no room. And if you are ordering take out they try to make you pay 80% in tips. And if you don't they get made and curse at you in their language. The sushi itself is ok but definitely not worth the trouble in the end.

Tonno Wakefield

First time here and what a wonderful place. Food fantastic from Oysters, Daily Cheese Board, Bolognese, Spaghetti Fra Dievolo, to Ribeye. Everything was fantastic, service amazing. I am sure we will be back much more than once. BTW, huge wine list. Anthony came by our table also to say hello. Additional note: Our server, Lauren was without questions one of the best I've every experienced. Her knowledge of the menu was amazing.

Me and my Italian roommate in college used to study here all the time. Cute coffee shop that offers wi-fi and outdoor sittings. I know it's a chain coffee shop but this location is especailly nice and it beats starbucks

Veritas

Stopped in for a late night impromptu bite on Friday night, without a reservation. Sat at the bar with no problem at all, and glad I did. First, this was my second time to the restaurant, and both times the food did not disappoint. However, sitting at the bar this past visit allowed me to learn from Ryan the bartender. This guy knows his craft, and what he stocks in his liquor collection is what I would refer to in the wine tasting arena as the library selection. Not sure if the terminology is the same for liquor. Regardless, his collection includes rare, hard to find liquor and then he pairs it with some incredible scratch made mixes. After a few cocktails and some much needed education on liquor, Ryan has opened my eyes to not only taste the difference, but understand the difference between a bar whose bartenders' know enough to mix an average cocktail, and the bartender who can pair and layer flavors. When you're thirsty for a finely crafted cocktail and great food, head over to Veritas, sit at the bar and surrender yourself to Ryan who will fix you a cocktail you'll not forget. You won't be disappointed.

Pok Pok

📍 Address: 3226 SE Division St, Portland

Grab some fish sauce wings! They're the best. Local tip: order pok pok to go, and walk a few doors down to imperial taproom. You can bring outside food in and enjoy a fantastic beer list! Plus, no long wait at pok pok!
