Jekyll Island Seafood

📍 Address: 6000 N Terminal Pkwy, Atlanta

Stars: (3.5)

This place was absolutely amazing! Although, they only had one server (JoJo) she was excellent and got our food & drinks out on time! The environment was good and clean. The food was incredible for it to be in the airport! (Get the Catfish & Grits!!) Also, the chef came out and greeted us about the food! Great place overall!

Blue Star Donuts

📍 Address: 1155 SW Morrison St, Ste 102, Portland

The Lemon-Poppyseed donut is truly one of the most flavorful donuts I've ever eaten. And the coriander note in the Apple Cider Fritter is delicious, too. The brioche texture and weight of each donut mean each one is quite filling. Hands down, my favorite donuts. Come here hungry.

Terry Black's Barbecue

📍 Address: 1003 Barton Springs Rd, Austin

OMG... Is all I want to say. However, allow me to indulge you in my experience as I describe to you the BEST bbq I have ever had in my life. They say everything is bigger in Texas... they sure did live up to that saying. I can smell the bbq from a mile away. It woke up my senses before I even stepped inside. As I walk in, the restaurant has a Wild West movie type of vibe. Wood panel walls, floors and ceilings. Picnic style tables for family style eating. As I walk up to the line, I was handed a tray lined with a type of parchment paper. I stopped at the first station where I got to pick my sides. They have quite a few yummy options which made it hard for me to decide. I allowed my stomach to choose and of course I got more than I could eat... mac and cheese, potato salad, and corn. They also had dessert station with banana pudding, pies, peach cobbler and more. I choose to pass on the desserts but they looked great. Next stop... Meat choices. They had a variety of smoked bbq meats to choose from. I choose the brisket, beef ribs, and sausage. As I walked over to my picnic table with a huge smile on my face, I couldnt help to think... Wow, I'm about to make that rib disappear. The food was awesome. The meats were tender, well flavored, with 3 choices of bbq sauce spicy, original, and sweet. The sides were all delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, potato salad was fresh, flavorful, and had a nice tang. My corn was a perfect combination of sweet and creamy deliciousness. The staff is friendly, the place is clean. If you are visiting from out of town it's worth a try!

Mitho Restaurant

📍 Address: 831 Main St, Winchester

We were looking for something new to eat and found this gem on yelp. We decided to give it a try and are so happy we did! We had never had Himalayan/Nepalese food. The woman that was our server helped us navigate the menu. She made some recommendations based on the level of spice we like. We started with some paneer and spinach Mo mo's (dumplings). So delicious! I had the grilled chicken Nepali way and my fiancé had the wild boar chili (level 5 spice). We both loved our entrees. They give so much food we had food for two lunches with our leftovers. We definitely recommend Mithos if you're looking for something ethnic that is unique.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

📍 Address: 117 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

My favorite fried chicken place of all time! Their menu is pretty simple - just chicken, fries, and some sides. However, pretty much everything on the menu is really good. The chicken is super moist and the outside is a good amount of crunchy. Highly recommend getting one of the plates and the fried okra. If you have a peanut allergy, they do fry their stuff in peanut oil, but it's refined peanut oil so there might not be any issues. The restaurant can get a little crowded sometimes during peak hours but the wait is worth it! 10/10 go!

Popover King

📍 Address: 74 Canal St, Boston

Solid 3.5, so rounding down (sorry!). Seems like a pretty new place and they're definitely trying! I like the idea because it's different than a traditional breakfast. I decided to go with a sweet option and did the American, which is apples with a cinnamon glaze and cream. The apples didn't seem homemade (maybe canned?), which is fine, they were still good, but I did not like the "cream." It was sort of globbed on and almost like cream cheese, which didn't really go with the apples in my opinion. My boyfriend did one of the combo/specials that gave him a sandwich popover with egg and ham, a savory popover (we did cheese) and a drink. He said the ham was delicious, fried really nicely, but the egg was average and the sandwich could have used some cheese. The cheese popover was the best out of the three - probably because it was so simple. I wasn't overly impressed but I would give them another shot and order something different next time.
