Downlow Chicken Shack

📍 Address: 905 Commercial Drive, Vancouver

Stars: (4)

A lot of hype over this place. Vancouver's first and only place dedicated to Nashville hot chicken. The chicken is good. Moist and nice crispy batter. Prices are high and takes about 10 minutes to get your order. In terms of chicken, it isn't any better than competing chicken places like Juke. But their selling point is the seasoning. Unfortunately this is where it falls short. Having had Nashville hot chicken before, in Tennessee actually, I figured their heat scale was accurate. Nope. Their extra hot (second highest) level is a joke. More akin to a medium or slightly hot at best. For those looking for serious heat, get the "side of milk" level to get decent heat. Fries are literally presidents choice crinkle cut frozen and thrown in the deep fryer. Spiced with medium chicken spice (basically zero heat but nice flavour). Can't say it's really worth the $4. I would expect fresh cut potatoes at a place like this. Slaw and Mac salad are OK. For $3 each theyre also pricy. Don't let the container fool you. They're only half full. And they charge you $1 for a serving of their sauce. Seems ridiculous to charge so much for everything else and also make you pay $1 for a tbsp of seasoned mayo. For those of you wanting to try Nashville hot chicken, come here for the chicken only with spice level 1-2 levels higher than you expect. I'd skip the sides.

I love this place. The food is always fresh, healthy and yummy! The staff is professional and friendly.

Sweet Hereafter

📍 Address: 3326 SE Belmont St, Portland

Stars: (4)

Even though I am continuing the five star rating I wanted to update my review, because I love Sweet Hereafter so much. I live in Hillsboro but make a trip every month or two just for the food (and drinks) here. We really enjoy going before it gets too crowded, liike at 4 or 5. I think I could eat a Jamaican Bowl (with avocado) every single night.

Burger 21 - Mall of Millenia

📍 Address: 4192 Conroy Rd, Ste 109, Orlando

Stars: (3.5)

I've been here once, but will definitely be back. Other reviewers might have had problems with service that tainted their experience, but my visit was great. I stopped in on a busy Saturday night and ordered to-go. Service was pleasant, and I was able to head to the sauce bar to prepare the little to-go containers of sauce as I was waiting. My drive home is short, but my food was still hot and delicious!I will be back, and I plan to try a milkshake!

Olga's Kafe

📍 Address: 99 Summer St, Boston

Stars: (4)

Olga is super sweet, and the coffee is cheap. The flavors are nice to mix it up from the typical boring iced coffee. I haven't had a hot item (sandwich), but the bakery items aren't the best. Olga definitely provides better service than you'll get at any other coffee shop though. All in all a pretty great place. I'm a repeat customer for sure.
