Aria

📍 Address: 490 E Paces Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4)

4.5 stars. Aria has an eclectic menu which strengths lie in its starters. We had an early seating and avoided the dinner rush. Highlights include the warm lobster cocktail and foie gras. The niman ranch pork was excellent. Desserts were quite standard not bad just not original. My recommendation would be to go earlier in the evening and order an extra starter and perhaps stay for a glass of sherry.

Great lunch here. Our server was very attentive. We had the tuna nacho, firecracker roll, spicy yellowtail roll and black/blue burger. Everything was prepared nicely. Food was quality. Has coke products. No Mt Dew, just an FYI. Would visit again.

DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana

📍 Address: 8000 Burnet Rd, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

I wanted to love it but I didn't. We got the San Gennaro and thought is was just ok - nice dough/crust but toppings were tasteless and pizza wasn't hot enough. For $23 you should looooove a pizza, right? Also we had the kids in tow and had to pay $13 just to get a small cheese. The service was really nice, manager came by and gave the kids dough to play with so nice touch there. Lastly, the beer. The hubby and I need good beer to go with pizza and their only option is Peroni for draft. For $6 a glass I was not happy about that.

Soul Fire BBQ

📍 Address: 182 Harvard Ave, Allston

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. My boyfriend and I were on our way to Sunset to order some boneless wings when he asked if I wanted to try Soulfire. I'm not a big meat eater, and everytime I've driven by this place it has seemed relatively empty, but we both really enjoyed our food. It was quick, cheap & tasty. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of Boston baked beans, he has the pulled pork & a side of cole slaw. Portions were generous, sandwich with a side was only $6. Oh, and they serve beer here too, which is nice. The employee at the counter was knowledgable & patient (we took a long time to order b/c we had never been in there before). The pickles were nasty- very salty, & tasted like vinegar. Lots of BBQ sauce options. Definitely worth checking out!

House of Blues Restaurant & Bar

Our server Daniel was great. He was very welcoming and attentive but not overly. We ordered the Voodoo Shrimp for an appetizer. It was quite good. The portion was 2 triangles of cornbread and 5 shrimps. Personally I like when there is an even number to be split. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and the Roasted Root Vegetables. Hands down I would get the Shrimp and Grits again. The spice/heat was great. I really enjoyed the fried grits. They're not normally served that way at other restaurants, but they should be. The Roasted Root Vegetables I will never get again. Perhaps it was a fluke, but the brussel sprouts tasted like they were frozen ones. They were quite soft and under seasoned. The cauliflower was also under seasoned. The carrots were okay. The dish as a whole seemed to lack salt. My husband ordered the Cajun Pasta. He liked mine better and I agree. The sauce in his dish lacked depth of flavor, especially compared to the sauce in mine. All in all it was a good first impression.
