Universal Orlando Resort

📍 Address: 6000 Universal Studios Plz, Orlando

Stars: (3.5)

When I first looked on yelp and saw 3.5 stars I was puzzled. This park is amazing with some of the best characters (simpsons, harry Potter etc) brought to life. But the more I read the more I found myself agreeing. On its own, the park is cool but when compared to disney it's hard to win. This park is much smaller than magic kingdom or epcot (or at least felt that way). While creation of the Simpsons home town, springfield, was cool this was one of only a handful of attractions. While amazing is it really worth it over going to Disney for virtually the same price? Another thing that bugs is how they did harry Potter world. Don't get me wrong. . . Its amazing and the highlight of our trip! But to divide it in half across two parks and make you pay twice to really see it all. . . Not nice. While the wall street fat cat in me appreciated the ingenuity, the poor dad in me (trust me, after a week at disney anyone would be poor) was just screaming enough! How much more can my poor charge card take! Just show me the bloody ride and let me be in peace. In any case the park is awesome, a must see and you can't lose. Save up, don't think about it and enjoy.

New India Cuisine

📍 Address: 2304 S Congress Ave, Austin

Solid Indian food in a cozy spot. This is the kind of comfort-food, no frills Indian that can satisfy a craving. I went with a lady friend on a Wednesday and it was suprisingly full. According to her it has had some more recent upgrades that have changed it from a true hole-in-the-wall to less of one. We got samosas to start and went a little crazy with our mains: lobster tail tikka masala and mussels in millionaire curry. We got both mild and they were flavorful and satisfying. I'd be interested to try them a notch higher and with non-seafood options. I also wouldn't do lobster tail in tikka (my idea)...I should have known the flavor of the lobster would be completely masked. I will definitely go for another round soon! Tip: New India is open until 10PM during the week, which is a game changer for late eaters like myself!

Chambar

Ate here for DOV 2016. Made reservations for 745. However the table before us did not leave on time so we ended up waiting until about 805 to get seated. The staff were very gracious and offered us a free mini appetizer as an apology! I admit after waiting over 20 minutes with a reservation made - I was prepared to give them 3 stars. - but the excellent service made up for it! I ordered the sablefish appetizer, tomato base muscles and the chocolate mousse for dessert. All were better than expected and delicious! The only weird thing about this place is the music. The restaurant was already quite loud and some of the tracks played consisted of very weird loud banging noises and lots of dialogue... Overall had a good experience and would return!

The Salty Pig

📍 Address: 130 Dartmouth St, Boston

Went here for a bite to eat after doing some bar hopping. Pizza was very good and definitely add the egg on top. Also a nice selection of beers on draft. The selection of meats and cheeses looked fantastic as well, but we did not indulge as we were running low on stomach space.

Barcelona Inman Park

📍 Address: 240 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta

This is the best tapa place in Atlanta. Our waitress is really nice. The tapas are great. It's noisy but all tapa places are noisy. The paella is just OK, the portion is really large. They are really busy, so make a reservation in advance.
