Two words: Gnudi Bolognese. Warm, friendly, and understandably popular. Service affable and prompt. Would not hesitate to return.

Southern Kin Cookhouse

Absolutely love this place. The vibe is right up my ally (flannel city) and I'm so stoked there's finally a place that does southern food right in Boston! Came here for brunch with a couple of friends and I can confidently say that we'll be back! To start, we had the skillet cornbread. The *only* reason why this is a 4 star review instead of 5 is that we didn't know we were being charged for the cornbread. Our server came to the table and asked if she could get us any cornbread or biscuits to start..we were under the impression that this was to be the complimentary bread in the beginning of the meal--after getting the bill we discovered that wasn't the case. But anyway, it was so good that I decided to let that go. The cornbread was served with green onions over the top..which I was a bit weary of at first, but after trying it, I immediately understood the genius. I forget the name of the drink I ordered, but it was a prosecco drink that was served with a slice of peach. I don't normally order alcohol with my food, but this was perfect to sip on. For my main, I had to get the chicken and waffles. Unfortunately, I've only ever had "chicken and waffles" in the sad form of a few chicken tenders on top of a sad waffle. SO NOT THE CASE HERE. The chicken was fried perfectly and was still so juicy. I also loveee the spice you get from the sliced peppers on top balanced out with the sweetness of the maple syrup. Oh man. I need to go back. After raving about this place to a few people; some have recommended the ribs or the grits...but I don't know if I can deny the chicken and waffles . TLDR; CHICKENWAFFLES.HEAVEN.GO NOW.

This place is AMAZING!!! Can I give it 6 stars??? The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was killer!! We had Pork El Pastor Tacos, Shrimp and Sausage Taco, and Chicken Al Pastor, Street Corn, and Dragon Green Beans. The food was substantial and filling. Definitely a place to visit again!

Che' Cafe

📍 Address: 7316 N Lombard St, Portland

Stars: (4.5)

UPDATE: As I've stated in my earlier review, this place is oftentimes closed. Last week I got very excited when they were not only open but they actually answered the phone and took my order! Then I arrived to find out that they had forgotten to start my order and they're slashing both the menu and hours significantly. I'll try uploading some photos to show just how many things are going. Ohhhh Che Cafe, I LOTE you so much (LOTE = Love + Hate)

Lee's Burger Place

📍 Address: 216 Sumner St, Newton Centre

The problem is the fries. Subpar. They taste like unhealthy grease. Not much flavour. If i order a burger from a place and the fries taste like a heart attack then i wont go there. Period.

This is a tough review for me. I've been to Pig Floyd's and had a delicious meal and then recently this past weekend I was very disappointed. We waited in a pretty long line, which I'm fine to do when the food is good. Once we got to the front, we took our food to-go. We got a pulled pork platter and the brisket sandwich with pimento cheese on it. Our sides were the apple fennel slaw, maduros, and yuca fries. Granted I know that when you do to-go the food will not always be spot on when it comes to temperature but we popped it into the oven again when we got home. The brisket sandwich was absolutely amazing! The pork was extremely average. The slaw was okay; I tasted more red onion than apple. The maduros were not all soft on the inside and crispy on the outside like they should be. The yuca fries came recommended and they were meh. The tikka masala sauce I added on the side was a life saver. I did not like the sweet bbq sauce we got. All in all, I was underwhelmed because my expectations for Pig Floyd's is so high (especially after waiting in line). I'll give this place another try but not any time soon. It was expensive for how meh the meal was.
