S&S Cafeteria

📍 Address: 3583 Chamblee Tucker Rd, Atlanta

Stars: (3.5)

It's funny... Folks don't know what they got until it's gone. I recently returned to S&S and was pleasantly pleased to see that it hasn't changed. I love congruity, especially when it comes to the comfort of food, and this place is real comfy food. To help put it into perspective on how it stands compared to other Southern fare it is 95% better than Matthews, but it's nothing like Mary Mac's. Matthews is good & convenient, but S&S has a lot more class and flavor plus they do a tasty pimento cheese and some Killer Pies! There are a lot more choices here than most "meat & three" places. It's hard to deny the rich flavor of history & nostalgia that a place like this can deliver too. I don't even have to tell you to enjoy this place because I have no doubt you will. Cheers!

Border Café

📍 Address: 32 Church St, Cambridge

Stars: (4)

Having personally helped keep Border in business for my 4 years of undergrad I have a special place in my heart for the restaurant...and especially the strawberry margaritas. Border is always the go-to with any group of friends. Not the most amazing Mexican food you will ever get but very very solid and at a great price. The drinks are absolutely fantastic (until that next morning) and were a staple of my undergraduate years.

Ramen Tatsu-Ya

📍 Address: 8557 Research Blvd, Ste 126, Austin

Stars: (4)

Really tasty ramen! Not too many options on the menu but what they make is excellent. Best part of the meal definitely was the cooked egg in the soup. I have no idea what they did to it, but it was delicious. A little hard to eat this meal in Texas heat, so I would recommend getting the version without broth. However, you don't get an egg with it, so make sure you order one with it (it's definitely worth the money). The ambience of the place was great, and it had a fun vibe that was fun and cool. Overall, great ramen and definitely will return!

Tasty Burger

📍 Address: 1301 Boylston St, Boston

Not being overly familiar with this neighborhood, I was a bit surprised by Tasty Burger, which is literally in the shadow of Fenway Park. The first thing to know is that this is a former garage (as in, a place you would take your car to have the oil changed and tires rotated). With that comes a small parking lot, which was a plus and saved having to find on-street parking. Also small, however, are the restrooms, which are single-person units, inconvenient for a restaurant of this size. The floor seems original garage-concrete, with a coat of gray paint. There is a pool table, no quarters required, another plus. We dined inside, but there is also a take-out window. Based on one visit, the food was good. The burgers were, pardon the pun, quite tasty. We also ordered a basket of fries and onion rings, overflowing and a great value for $4; the fries were of the thin shoestring variety, and the onion rings sliced very thin, almost onion straws, both very good. Service was friendly, and the food came out of the kitchen very quickly. All in all we enjoyed it and would visit again if ever in the area.

Cypress Street Pint & Plate

📍 Address: 817 W Peachtree St NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4)

I returned to Cypress. I ordered the same thing as last time. The BBQ egg rolls were just as amazing as last time. The sauce complements the pork and collard greens inside very well. I went with the Buffalo Chicken wrap again. It was decent. I've had better, but not bad. I asked the manager for extra blue cheese sauce/crumbles and originally he told me it would cost extra. However, when he brought it over, he was very friendly and said "because I knew him" he wouldn't charge me. (I don't actually know him, I was just nicely talking to him earlier...so it shows being nice to staff can go a long way).

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q

📍 Address: 1238 Dekalb Ave NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4.5)

Yes, Yes and Yes, literally every time I think of this place I want BBQ and I wait to drive out there. This is my favorite BBQ place, the staff is very nice and the food is amazing. The only problem I have with this place is, I wish it were larger or they had a second location b/c the lines are crazy! A good sign of a great restaurant!
