Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant

📍 Address: 1710 Pearl St, Boulder

Stars: (4)

I had California Vegan Visitor in town. I found Leaf Vegetarian and 6 of us went there. The food and atmosphere were great, the wait staff very friendly! My Vegan guest was so happy! I am not vegetarian and can't wait to come back! The food was that delicious. Thank you.

Top of the Hub

📍 Address: 800 Boylston St, Ste 52, Boston

Stars: (3.5)

Went there for brunch with my parents on my birthday. The food was absurdly expensive and not tasty at all. Service was poor, as well. I felt embarrased. I can recommend coming up for drinks, but don't push your luck.

JINYA Ramen Bar

📍 Address: 5975 Roswell Rd, Ste B-217, Sandy Springs

Stars: (4.5)

Wow! This place is no joke. I'll admit, it's rather busy, and a bit tight, but the food and atmosphere are well worth it! The broth is delicious, the pork tender, and the noodles chewy! Easily the best bowl of ramen I've ever had, and undoubtedly one of the best in Atlanta. The service is wonderful and the portions are perfect. A must try!

Hime Japanese Restaurant

📍 Address: 315 Broadway E, Vancouver

Stars: (3.5)

Hime is a perennial favourite for me - one of my best friends lives just around the corner and I can't count the number of times we've gorged ourselves here! This evening, my dining companion had never experienced the deliciousness so I happily suggested we go. The sushi rolls are always beautifully presented, fresh, and tasty! The staff are attentive and courteous - my complimentary green tea was swiftly refilled every time it was getting low, and my empty miso soup bowl disappeared before I even noticed! My only complaint is that I'm so full right now I can hardly move - how dare you make your food so yummy! (I'll be back... And soon...)

Burnt Fork BBQ

📍 Address: 614 Church St, Decatur

Stars: (3)

Although I certainly commend Burnt Fork's dedication to sustainable and locally sourced products, as well as their attempt to apply a novel twist to traditional barbecue, the place just reeks of trying too hard. As far as I'm concerned, vegan-friendly barbecue is just as egregious as non-alcoholic beer or sugar-free chocolate. Let's stop the insanity, folks. Food: Burnt Fork offers a decent selection of traditional southern barbecue fare such as beef brisket and brunswick stew, but they also offer more novel options such as Korean barbecue tacos and Yucatan-style Barbacoa. Sauces include vinegar-based Carolina, sweet Memphis, and smoky Kansas City options. During my visit, I opted for the traditional offerings so that I would have a means of comparison with other local barbecue restaurants. That being said, the offerings at Burnt Fork were largely unimpressive. I started with the brisket nachos, which were overly greasy, meagerly portioned, and completely devoid of flavor. For an entree, I opted for the rib combo plate (quarter rib + quarter chicken) with fries and mac n' cheese. Although I did enjoy the mac n' cheese, which included a nice hint of gouda, the remainder of the plate was perfectly edible, but mostly forgettable. Service: I have been in prisons with better service. Although our waitress was certainly friendly, it was more than apparent that she had little, if any, past experience serving tables. Aside from being glacially slow, she was unfamiliar with the menu, left us to find our own silverware, and delivered the checks without first clearing the table. Atmosphere: Casual with little frills. The front entrance of the restaurant is equipped for take-out orders, while a large side room is available for dine-in service. The clientele during my visit was mixed, but included a decent number of families with small children. Cost: Reasonably priced. Starters are $3.50-$7.50, sandwiches (1 side) are $9-$10, plates (2 sides) are $13-$16, and individual sides are $3-$4. Other: Although many would consider it an unwise business practice to include the term "burnt" in the name of a restaurant, there is a reasonable explanation. The name refers to Burnt Fork Creek, which originates in Tucker and once served as a major water source for the city of Decatur.

Poor Calvin's

📍 Address: 510 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4.5)

Love this place!! Everything about it from ambience to food! There is always something on the menu that will tantalize your mind and tastebuds. I had lamb dish which was excellent. It had all the flavors of a Thai dish but with subtle differences that worked well. Nice crafted cocktail list as well. Absolute Fusion, absolutely delicious!
