North Market

📍 Address: 59 Spruce St, Columbus

Stars: (4.5)

North Market is THE place to be in Columbus. It houses everything from ice cream, to dumplings, to the highly coveted pierogis. It's the place that has it all. The thing I love best about North Market is that you can end up trying something new with every visit. There will always be something to surprise you and tingle your senses. It's the place that I love to bring visitors because there is just so much to explore within these walls. If you haven't visited you have been seriously missing out and absolutely must make your way down there ASAP.

Bertucci's Italian Restaurant

📍 Address: 475 Winter St, Waltham

Allow me to begin by saying I love Bertucci's, and this was my first - and last - time at this location. Around 2:15 on Friday August 9th, I placed an online order for pickup since I was starving and knew I should have something substantial and not just snack all afternoon. I ordered the lunch Chicken Parm with salad as you can see here, and went to pick it up: 1 x Chicken Parma (1 x $12.49) = $12.49 1 x Insalata 2 x Guests SUBTOTAL $12.49 Coupon Redeemed (Lobster 20%) ($2.50) TAX $0.69 TOTAL $10.68 I told the girl at order pickup my name and that I was there to pick up an order; she looked so confused and had to go and get someone for help. Another girl came over and said "are you picking up the order for Brenda?". No. Brenda must have had a big party going on because she had several bags waiting to go, and I only had chicken and a salad. More confusion. Finally, someone realized I was Margot and was there to pick up chicken parm (as I had stated), and it was put in a bag. I handed over my credit card and the girl said "oh no, you paid online". OK, maybe I did in my online account? I figured she would know and I would see it on my credit card, and off I went to enjoy my lunch... or so I thought. The chicken parm had very little taste and was burnt (how is this possible?), and the spaghetti was lacking something... it must have been flavor. No butter was with the rolls, but I ate one while reaching into the bag for the salad and found nothing but an empty bag. NO SALAD. I threw out the pasta and chicken, did not really enjoy the dry rolls, but ate them because they looked slightly better than the plastic bag. I couldn't even be bothered with calling them back since it would mean getting back in the car and I was annoyed already. A couple of hours later, a message was on my phone from someone named Tanya at the restaurant telling ME I "must have misunderstood because I did not pay online" and needed to call her to pay for the order. Hold on, I "misunderstood" them insisting that I had already paid??? OK, Bertucci's Waltham manager: please call me to discuss this order for $10.68. You forgot half of my order, so we are already down to $5.34, I tossed out most of it but will agree to pay for half of it, so please call me so I can pay you $2.67. Or ask Tanya (or whoever the two girls were at the desk at 2:35 that afternoon) for payment. If you can view your security camera, I am the only customer standing there, the one with the green Visa card in her hand ready to pay.

IL Mondo Pizzeria

📍 Address: 738 Huntington Ave, Boston

Stars: (3)

The pizza here CAN be great, specifically when its hot. Most of the times I've been to just grab slices however they give them to you cold or luke warm. Even if they throw them in the oven to heat them up, they only leave em there for a minute or two so it does nothing. Considering the relatively high cost slices, I'd expect much better. The service there tends to be sub-par at best. I find most of the employees there treat you as more of an inconvenience than anything else. It is unfortunate, because their food is certainly excellent, but between the poor service, high cost, and lack of ability to provide you with their food HOT, I doubt I will return here again anytime soon.

We had a lovely time Sunday night. Our entrees were delicious and our server was very knowledgeable about the wine selection. We will definitely be coming back!

G. Michael's Bistro & Bar

📍 Address: 595 S 3rd St, Columbus

Oh G Michael, how you amaze me every time I come. This is my second time at G Michael's Bistro and I always love it. We decided to go here for my boyfriend going away dinner. We got two appetizers. The soft shelled crab special and the calamari. The one thing I would recommend is not for the crispy calamari to be under their sauce. I got the roasted pheasant over pea risotto. It was tasty. My boyfriend got the trout which was breaded and oh so delicious. It has this sweet tangy sauce too and purple potatoes. My sister got the walleye and the sauce was also sweet/sour. My sister's fiancé got the ribeye special with a blackberry spicy sauce and sweet potato mash. He was very satisfied with his choice. Everything was great! If you are wanting to go out for a nice dinner or just a good meal in general, go here! One of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. Do not let the prices full you, you pay for what you get. Oh and by the way this place isn't one of those high class places with small portions.. Oh no! They have very good portions which is another reason I like it here. Just remember if you want a app to share it! You will not be able to finish your entree if not!
