Really delicious. Had dinner with out of town work colleagues and this was an excellent choice! Have been several times and The Optimist comes through again. Cocktails were delicious and maybe a little too drinkable, the seafood fresh and the meal - exactly what we wanted. Top 3: 1) clam roll 2) hush puppies 3) house made hot sauce/koozies! (tie) Great place to host a dinner big or small. And, who doesn't have to play a little put-put and drink a cold cocktail before a seafood dinner?

Great experience while traveling from SF Austin for SXSW. Oven fired pizza was , simple, classic, and tasty. Wine selection was great. Service was solid. Atmosphere was great.

The pork with mac n' cheese is comfort food at its very best, the five spice powder subtly infuses the pork with flavor and who doesn't love a crusty cheesy little pot of mac cheese? I also adore the wonton chips with thai tuna tartare. If you can stand the din and servers who think they are way too cool to serve you, it is worth the trip.
Nando's

I like Nandos chicken a lot, but this location is terrible. The service was GLACIALLY slow on our last visit. There were only 2 other groups in the restaurant and we waited 20-25 minutes for the food. I have never encountered such slow service at any other Nandos. Will NOT be going back to this location. Not ever.

We did walk in around 6pm and got seated. The food was amazing. Especially all the starters, they are small portion so you get to order more different dishes.
Island Creek Oyster Bar

After trying this place out last night, I am really surprised by the other ratings. People actually like this place? It was our first time there and we definitely won't be returning. The menu screamed desperation to be different and trendy - food pairings that seemed to make no sense and obscure (but trendy, I'm sure) ingredients. It was not busy and we sat at the bar. There were only 2 other people seated at the bar and it was not exactly hopping in the dining room, so why it took so long for someone to acknowledge us and take drink orders, I don't know. The food was OK, not outstanding by any means. The lobster bisque had a good amount of lobster in it, but seemed a bit bland. My entree was the lobster roe noodles, which sounded interesting, but really just puzzled me. Why braised short ribs and lobster together? I felt like I was eating two different dishes thrown together. My husband also had the lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail (the shrimp were huge) and a burger and fries. The fries were so greasy as to be inedible. The service was nearly non-existent. It took much too long to get drinks, considering there were at least two servers behind the bar and only two other customers seated at the bar when we sat down. Our end of the bar appeared to be the "watercooler" of the employee breakroom. There were usually 4-5 servers gathered around, chatting about their personal lives, eating (on break?) and sharing samples of some bartender creation. Two of the servers were clearly conducting a bit of a handsy flirtation behind the bar (we saw them put on a little more demonstrative session outside as we left). Our overall impression was that they considered themselves too good to have to try and customers were a mere annoyance to spoil their workday socializing. Only one guy bothered to inquire about our meals and he appeared to be the low guy on the totem pole, judging by how the others ordered him around. Next time we'll go somewhere where they don't try to fool you into thinking the food is good just because it's expensive and where the wait staff actually understands what job they are being paid to do. I've read Yelp reviews for years when looking for a restaurant to try but I've never submitted my own. Last night was just so annoying I finally broke down and created an account. I am looking forward to writing reviews for those places where we walk out saying "Wow, that was a great place. We have to go back". ICOB wasn't that restaurant.
