Royal China

📍 Address: 3295 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Chamblee

4/5 Food 4/5 Service 2/5 Price I came here for dim sum with three friends on a Saturday at noon. We were seated immediately, and promptly received the chrysanthemum tea that we ordered. We ordered 18 dishes for the four of us. I don't know the names for most of them, but I will try to describe: two orders of congee (each order comes with two servings), one order of shrimp wrapped in long rice wrappers (3 pcs), one order of shrimp wrapped in rice paper like a dumpling (4 pcs), two shrimp shumai (4 pcs each), one order of shrimp dumpling with scallops (4 pcs) , one pork shumai (4 pcs), one pork dish that had bones, one order that looked like tripe, one order of organs, one order of eggplant with fried shrimp (3 pcs), one order of fried taro bun (tasted like a croquette) (3 pcs), one order of egg tarts (3 pcs), one order of bbq pork buns (3 pcs), one order of turnip cakes (3 pcs), and I guess I'm forgetting two dishes... Three girls and a guy finished all of the food except one turnip cake, one fried taro bun, half of the organs, and half of the tripe, so it's not like we really ordered too much food. We all left pretty content, but I was hungry again three hours later. Most things were pretty decent. Nothing was downright bad. BUT what I was really craving were bbq pork buns but these were the most disappointing dish :( I've had much better at other dimsum places. The egg tarts too were very average, if not below average. I've also had better at other dim sum restaurants. Service was fine, if not pretty good for a Chinese place on a weekend. But the price! I know we ordered a good amount of food, but we usually order about this much at other places and pay $10-15 (at most) each. This place came to $20 each, with a total of $80 after tax and tip. Yeesh.

The Lansdowne Pub

📍 Address: 9 Lansdowne St, Boston

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)

After a bit of a rocky start, the Landsdowne came out winners in my book, basically for the exceptional customer service provided by Chris the manager. This is a large pub, very reminiscent of an Irish/English pub, typical decor, plenty of high tops and massive bar and a private room off to the side. Lots of beer selections, all the traditional favorites, we found the first bartender a little aloof, not sure what his problem was but he cheered up after i tippped him $6 on a $14 check (more than 40%!!) Anyway, we decided to move from the bar and we sat at the long gathering type table the almost runs the length of the bar and were then waited on by a delightful young girl who's name escapes me. We ordered a burger that came with the customary fries and salad garnish, however the bun, which looked pretty nice, was hard as a rock. We told the server who promptly told the manger Chris who came right over to apologize and give us an explanation, went into the kitchen to address it to the chef's and deducted the burger off our check. Excellent managerial skills and customer service. Place turns into a lively nightspot later on with live bands and DJ's, all in all a very enjoyable night, i'm sure we will be back.

First Printer

📍 Address: 13-15 Dunster St, Cambridge

Waiter was drunk. And not in a good way. Super weird. Something about a signal for service involving our water glasses (which didn't work)? He forgot a lot of stuff, and service was unimaginably slow. EDIT: This was a while ago, and I understand the server has left the restaurant. And, actually, management has been great about this problem. Looking forward to going back.

Quincy Market

📍 Address: 4 S Market St, Boston

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

What a great place! Definitely a must visit if you're in Boston! There are so many stores and places to eat in the area, a really great place to explore by yourself, as a couple, or with your family. Understandably, there are large crowds, but the shops and stores accommodate them pretty well. Lines might look long for some chowda, but they go by quickly! The only downside is parking. No one validates at the parking garage and it's $40 for a couple of hours. If you can manage, take a ride share or public transportation. It may end up being cheaper depending on where you are staying.

Bertucci's Italian Restaurant

📍 Address: 475 Winter St, Waltham

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐ (3)

the food at bertuccis as a whole has changed from nice Italian to chain food. that being said, the food was good but nothing special. the waitress was gorgeous, fun, and super sweet but it took awhile to get our check and it wasn't very busy on a weekday night.

Fusian Sushi

Decided to try this place out on a whim (thanks to Yelp) when everyone in my group was in the mood for "Chinese" food but didn't want to drive to Panda Express. This isn't the overly sweet, kept on a warmer, sauce-drenched Americanized food you would get elsewhere. For less than what I would have paid at the other places I have been to, I got delicious food and it is the real deal. The menu is far more varied than anyone could have expected, featuring Thai, Japanese and Korean food. The food itself is absolutely wonderful. I personally ordered the Salmon and it was AWESOME! It was super filling, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. On top of that, the service was lovely, friendly and helpful when it came to picking a dish. There was a "difficult" customer present when I was there - referring to the Asian staff as "these people" and calling them "insane", but they handled things with tact and grace, being friendly and keeping the situation from escalating which really impressed me. Also, someone was sitting outside with their dog, reading over their meal which is a great idea. Will definitely bring the pooch and stop by for lunch on their patio after seeing this. I know the restaurant is small and usually not busy, but don't let that keep you away! The atmosphere is actually pretty nice and the restaurant itself is clean. We ordered take out (which was fast) but will definitely be dining in next time. Can't wait to try more here!
