This place is stupid.Went here for a tart and ice wine pairing with a bunch of lady friends. How can one eff that up, you may ask?Tarts were gross (tarts, gross? yes - flavorless, soggy), and ice wine had been sitting out on the tables for who knows how long - long enough for it to get warm. Ew.Worst were the chef and manager who were leading the show - they wanted us to eat one tart, drink one wine, and then discuss it for 20 minutes. As if we were consuming food that deserved more than 30 seconds' consideration. The ladies and I downed all six of our pairings in 30 minutes (we could've done it faster had we been less concerned with social conventions) and peaced out for burritos. Way better way to spend an evening.
Powell's City of Books

This place is book heaven! My husband and I visited Powell's during a weekend trip to Portland. We were amazed at the shelves and shelves of books on everything and anything. You could spend an entire afternoon here, especially since there is a cafe here. They have a section of fancy-looking, leather bound books that would make a great gift. This bookstore is different not only because of its immense size, but also because it has an "old-fashioned" feel that stands in contrast with your typical Barnes and Noble. This place has reignited my love for books and we walked out with a couple of classic books we had always wanted to read. It is hard not to find something you like here.
Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Great food. Had a bit of everything. The brisket, cream corn, and potatoes are in my opinion the best things on the menu. Loved that it has a gas station attached. Awesome!
Mitchell's Steakhouse
📍 Address: 45 N 3rd St, Columbus

A restaurant is as good as it's experience. Mitchell's provided one of the greatest meals I have ever had. David is a delight providing excellent service and passion. His goal and Mitchell's goal was to make this night unforgettable. The cowboy steak was great. Crab cake delicious. Carrot cake perfectly rich and sweet. This meal made my expectations of a steak House increase. I cannot recommend this enough.

On my recent trip to Austin in search of the most kickass bbq ever, we stopped by the famous Rudy's for some (extra moist) brisket and ribs. I loved the no-frills in-a-gas-station get up here, but I have to say the food fell a bit short. We shared 1/2 lb of the extra moist brisket, 1/2 lb of the pork ribs, potato salad, and creamed corn. The potato salad was underwhelming, the creamed corn was 80% mayo/cream 20% corn, and the ribs were DRY!!! The flavor was spot-on if you douse it in the famous BBQ sauce, but by no means was it fall-off-the-bones tender. And the extra moist brisket? Well, it wasn't dry...but the flavor and texture left something to be desired.I'm definitely glad we made a stop at this famous bbq institution, but needless to say my search for the worlds greatest bbq continues.
Austin Tea Xchange Cafe

I love going to Austin Tea Xchange! It is my go-to lunch spot- I have tried all of the salads (and proteins) and they are delicious! My favorite is the spinach/cranberries/pistachio and goat cheese combo. Their specialty teas are amazing as well I had the beet/rose tea latte last week and it was amazing! But even their regular iced teas are refreshing and very well brewed. I have also tried one of their "sweet" yogurt combos (pineapple, coconut, agave and mint) it wasn't too sweet and the crunch of the coconut added a great texture to the yogurt. Going back again soon!
