Barley Swine

📍 Address: 6555 Burnet Rd, Ste 400, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

Everything was fantastic. Creative pairings driven by innovation. The presentations were wonderful, staff was wonderful, ambiance was wonderful. Simply an unforgettable dining experience (in the good way). Very pleased that it is now prixe fix menu-style because prior to this, picking a dish was nearly impossible without having remorse for not having tried another dish.

Whiskey's Food & Spirits

📍 Address: 885 Boylston St, Boston

I will give this 2 stars because the guys at the door were nice, but don't go here if you have a large group and just want to get some drinks at the bar. We went in and went over to stand by the bar, thinking that we would just order from a bartender. At this point, a server comes over and is very in our face about ordering something. OK, not really into having a server when we are standing by the bar..especially when there are 5 of us. So we walk over to the other side of the bar, and another server is in our face again (neither of them super friendly). She comes up and asks if we want drinks and I basically tell her that we are going to need to split the check 5 ways. I then continued to say that it might be easier for us to just order at the bar (which is what we wanted to do all along since we are standing by the bar). Then she says "well this is my section so I would really prefer it if you order from me". Ok...fair enough I guess...I have had jobs as a server so I understand, but I still think it's dumb and ruins the chillness of standing at the bar having a drink (especially when she seemed slightly annoyed that she would have to split the checks that many ways..that was the whole point of us ordering from a bartender duh). There is a reason why we didn't sit at a table. I gotta say though, I think it is a pretty dumb policy to have server sections at a bar. Whatever though, there are plenty of other places around...

Uncle Brunos Deli

📍 Address: 5825 Glenridge Dr NE, Bldg 2, Ste 115, Atlanta

Stars: (4.5)

This is a tiny spot, hidden away in an office park off Glenridge, not far from Northside Hospital. They do a nice business in sandwiches, but I come for the Bulgogi! Despite its name, Uncle Bruno's is owned/run by a couple sweet Korean ladies. As you would guess, they make great Bulgogi.

34th Street Cafe

📍 Address: 1005 W 34th St, Austin

Stars: (3.5)

Good food, good people, cute place! Extra special shout out and thank you to the guy who made eating lunch with a toddler so much easier! Thanks for making us feel so welcome and being so kind:)

Cain and Abel's

📍 Address: 2313 Rio Grande St, Austin

I went in last night with my friend and we were both flatly ignored. After waiting at a fairly slow bar for 10 minutes, I expect to at least have an acknowledgement that we are there and will be seen shortly. We received no such thing from the barback or the bartender. Both of us said, "Excuse me" to both of them after about the 12-minute mark and they both pretended not to hear us (it was quiet and there's little chance they didn't). Terrible service. I guess they don't like making money or being in the customer service trade. We left and could finally see the pair noticing us as we left the bar, both blaming each other for not doing a decent job.

Chick-fil-A

📍 Address: 4360 13th St, Saint Cloud

Very bright and inviting! Wonderful staff! Real chicken in the tenders, not just processed. I love the In House sauce. Make sure you put it on your sandwich too! Great value!
