Listen.to.me.... AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE! Hubby is from NY And was extremely pleased that this place is as good as he remembers bagels from NY. HUBBY has high standards for food and he was over the moon happy with his everything bagel with lox and cream cheese! I had the lox and cream cheese on a sesame. This will be our regular place from Now on! I would give it 10 stars. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Quick service with a smile and a super clean facility to include the bathroom. The owner was very nice and welcoming. :)

Wow, stopped in today for a late lunch, and was blown away. The service was exceptional, the decor is fun, and the food was out of this world! I had the best spicy red miso ramen ever! I will be back!

Visually, this is still one of my favorite spots in town. The deep blue façade, the neatly trimmed vines, the huge picture windows. It's a gorgeous restaurant. But what started as a casual spot, where you could casually peruse the shelves, order something at the counter, and lazily sit and snack, as slowly becomes something more... strained. The waiter service for a menu that doesn't deserve the pomp of waiters makes no sense to me. For one, the place was clearly designed for a more casual experience, as is indicated by the total lack of waiting space. Second, the food here has never been good enough to warrant the higher prices and more turgid approach. Always good, but never great. And while I've had some memorable experiences with desserts - I'm looking at you cookies - I must comment on the mediocrity of the beignets. They look delicious, puffy and sugary, but they taste a bit too much like the oil they are cooked in. And textually, they aren't quite as crisp on the outside, or light on the inside. It's like the beignets are a metaphor for this entire place - visually stunning, but ultimately ordinary.

I'll admit it: I went to a Japanese restaurant for it's burger. Now I can see why other people were raving about this $12 burger. The medium rare burger was perfectly thick, moist, and flavorful. I could've eaten it with a fork and knife like a steak! Then come in the supporting cast members: shoestring potatoes, goat cheese, and a thick but amazing light sesame bun. It's definitely one of Portland's top burgers. Is it the best? That's tough to say. I kept wanting to compare this burger to the Branch Burger at Branch Whiskey Bar. What I need to do is a blinded taste test. Anyone want to help me with this?

My friends and I came here for hotpot. I'm happy to have a place like this here, because I don't know of any shabu-shabu places in the Cambridge area! Overall it was a very standard meal but with a nice, clean environment (in contrast to some of the Boston staples like Kaze or Shabuzen), and I like the diversity in the menu. - Beef combo shabu shabu - got the default broth. Very standard, Chinese tasting hot pot (haven't found a Japanese one in the US yet). The veggies were standard (some mushrooms including enoki, daikon, taro, spinach, cabbage, etc). The meat seemed fresher than other places I've been. - Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) - fairly tasty. Not very strong, not a lot of soup, and the vinegar sauce is strong so use it sparingly. I prefer mine to have a lot more soup in general. The meat is good though and the skins are tasty and don't fall apart like other places! My favorite in Boston are still Gourmet Dumpling house. - Green tea ice cream - surprisingly not much flavor (in contrast the deliciously bitter matcha ice cream at Gyukaku). Overall, the tastes of this place don't seem too different from other shabu shabu places in Boston. I like the list of the side menu and am curious about the ramen for next time. Everything looks clean and I like how it has the upscale look of other East Cambridge restaurants while still being affordable. I'll definitely throw this place into my Kendall repertoire!
