Been here a few times. First time I came wasn't good experience the food was not up to par, I had gotten boiled yucca w/garlic sauce and it was just no bueno. Second time, I got the wings and guayaba cheesecake and it was actually pretty okay. Today I went with a couple of friends from school in which the vast majority got the tropi bowl and I got the "light meal" which consisted of a small portion of Caribbean soup and half of a chicken wrap, I also bought the Lg portion of tostones, and then a guayaba cheesecake. The total of my meal was $11. It was nice for them to have a sauce bar where we can get as much as we wanted so that's a plus. I was only able to get through the soup and two tostones because I got full. The soup was actually pretty good, it had yucca, sweet potatoe, chicken and some other veggies; was nice portion for lunch. Tostones was really big, I got the Lg batch so it had about 5 of them. They were really crispy, no sal on them, tho . I'll update later for the cheesecake & chicken Cesar wrap! Update: the wrap was just "okay". The tortilla was multigrain (I believe) and I didn't taste the "Cesar" aspect of it. The chopped grilled chicken that it was stuffed with was actually juicy and seasoned- good . The cheesecake was alright and edible. My friends thought their bowls were pretty good, one was not offered to add any toppings at time of order so they were pretty disappointed with that. Two ordered the mango tea and they said it was sugarless and very watered down. Another added shrimp a la crate, smelled very odd, and he described it as being "distasteful". The restaurant was busy however, there were no lines when we came in which was good. The staff was nice and helpful. The restaurant itself was pretty clean, the only thing was that the sauce "bar" was a little messy. Luckily, it seems that each time I come, it gets a little bit better so hopefully next time I will be able to give it four stars. Sidenote: I have heard the Miami location is way better.

Shabu & Mein

📍 Address: 148 1st St, Cambridge

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

I've worked right next to Shabu & Mein for years, but just now tried it. I came for lunch, which was pretty busy, but the waiter made sure to let us know about how long we'd have to wait for our food, which was nice. I ordered the regular pork ramen, which was good but not as good as other ramen I've had in Boston. The thin noodles were a bit of a let down and I felt that there wasn't as much pork as I would have wanted. The prices are okay (not super expensive, but not cheap either), so I'd probably come back if I were craving ramen and didn't want to go out of my way

Cambridge Brewing Company

📍 Address: 1 Kendall Sq, Bldg 100, Cambridge

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)

And well, well, well. This time I finally got to Cambridge Brewing Co. on a trip to Boston. In fact, to make up for my mistake last time I was in town, I made sure to go twice. I didn't eat any of the food here, so my review is based off the beer and service they had. I have to say, the beer selection is extremely good. CBC goes to show that you don't need a hundred million taps to make a good beer list. I focused on all of their own beers, but I absolutely loved the range in selections. I rarely come across sours in Chicago, and for them to have one of their own on tap, spot on CBC. CBC pretty had any style that a beer geek like me could want, and they have plenty of selections for more normal people too. That's when you know you're onto something. I never had a problem getting a beer here and the staff was always very helpful. If you asked, they'd always give their opinions and they didn't lead me wrong at all. I can't wait to come back out here and have more of their beers. We now get some CBC bombers in Chicago, but I'm not sure about the freshness on them. I'd also like to keep this as a place that warms my heart and stomach with good beer.

SnowBean

📍 Address: 5310 E Colonial Dr, Orlando

How has it took this long for me to check out Snow Bean?! It's a hidden treasure of Orlando for sure. This was my first Korean Dessert Cafe and I loved it. It's a very cozy cafe connected to the Izziban Sushi and Korean BBQ. It's a great spot to study and enjoy a green tea latter or delicious shaved Ice overlooking a beautiful lake. They offer hot drinks, dessert, icecream and basically all your Korean dreams. For my first experience I had the Green tea shaved ice. It's so delicious with shaved ice, mochi, cereal, and green tea powder. Other flavors they have strawberry bomb, waffle bee and I can't wait to try the mango cheesecake.y boyfriend had his first Green tea latte and loved it. Service here is really great. The barista was very friendly and walked us through the menu. We came at night time but the view was still beautiful. There was huge koi fish in the water swimming in circles.

Texas Roadhouse

📍 Address: 102 Boston Providence Hwy, Walpole

I received a gift card, and we thought we would try it risk-free. It is very casual; so you can "come as you are." They have a barrel of peanuts with shells all over the place. The rolls are fabulous and very hot. I had the sirloin with a caesar salad. My wife had the $7.99 steak special. The downside: very loud country music blared constantly. If you want a quiet night out, go elsewhere. This is a fun place. I also had the sweet tea, southern style. Ouback is still number one for steaks. Better atmosphere and better salads. It is way ahead of Longhorn Steakhouse in my book. The service was fast and friendly. I will return to try some of the other menu items. My steak was excellent. You can select your own from the case out front, but I didn't bother.
