Sazón

📍 Address: 1816 S Lamar Blvd, Austin

Ok. The mex-Marts are good. The quest, good. Service lacking. It doesn't matter if we go in large groups, small groups, or alone. The staff seems put off by their tables. I would chuck it up to me being the common denominator but I have heard it too much from others and I don't frequent the place enough to be known. So it lends me to think the staff is not happy. Service for drinks is slow as well but they are good and strong. The patio is cute and covered.

Charlie's Place-Pizza Chicken & More

Can S K. and I just have a conversation about how difficult/ time consuming/ aggravating the customer service is? I think the "manager" was just having a horrible day and decided to take it out on customers (simply based off of S K's review). I had a few friends over today, my friend called and ordered wing dings and a large pizza. Simple enough right? Terribly TERRIBLY wrong. I received some version of wing dings; un-breaded, tasteless with a side of buffalo sauce and celery...apparently something called "Fresh Wings" (which aren't even on the online menu). I've been ordering from this place for about 15 years now and I've never ordered Fresh Wings...whatever they are. I called and told them about the misunderstanding and asked them to please send out the correct order. The girl I was speaking to asked me to hold and proceeded to explain the situation to the "manager" and said to her, "well then you talk to her". The manager picked up the phone obviously already irritated and essentially told me I was wrong, she was right, I ordered the wrong item and it's an extra charge for the wing dings...then demanded I send the other chicken back with the driver. She said all of this while scoffing, laughing, and joking with the other employee. The phone disconnected. I assumed the connection was lost and went outside. I called back and heard someone pick up and deliberately hang up. This happened several more times. Honestly after a long day I just wanted some damn wings, and a beer and not have to deal with kids that are having some sort of power trip at 10 pm. I asked for a manager and before I even finished the statement she belched out that she WAS in fact the manager. I asked for a higher up and she stated there is no one else in charge. Now, Charlie's has been a main staple in Dorchester since my school girl days at St. Marks across the road...I highly doubt that the owner would simply hand over his business to a young girl who's only been there for two months! After being yelled at about how wrong I was by the manager (who had taken the order) I explained a room full of people heard the order being placed, so maybe it was just a bad connection or maybe she may have misheard? Nope. I ordered incorrectly apparently. I simply asked her to send out the correct order and she nastily replied it was an extra $5. That was fine with me, but in my experience, most establishments will send out a new order free of charge after a misunderstanding. She obviously needs a course in management, or perhaps just a lesson in the common courtesy of not berating or belittling customers? I don't think that's too much to ask for. I will NOT be ordering from here again until they hire better staff. Based on the other reviews I'd say the problem is the staff, not the food! ..(although I did order a Greek salad a month ago which arrived without feta cheese or olives...what?)

Dairy Queen

📍 Address: 5605 SE Division St, Portland

You need to fire your nasty manager and how someone who knows how to speak to people instead of bullying vulnerable people. It's not hard to be respectful. Only a very small man with a complex will bully someone for no reason. Get it together.

Copious

📍 Address: 520 S High St, Columbus

Stars: (3.5)

Grabbed dinner at Copious last night, I live in brewery district but this was my first time in. I love the space, and they were able to quickly accommodate our group of 8! Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. We arrived at 630 and happy hour goes until 7, but only at the bar. They have a great selection of draft beer, lots of local breweries and some cool cocktails. For dinner I had the mussels and ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. The mussels were good, but the sauce was very salty. The Brussels sprouts were great! I'd like to check out brunch next!

Zesto

📍 Address: 2469 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta

Stars: (3.5)

Came here with high expectations and was pretty disappointed. Although the employees were super nice, the service was extremely slow for mediocre food that is on par to what you can get at McDonald's but at a higher price point.

Frank's Steak House

📍 Address: 2310 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

Stars: (3.5)

Slightly pricey for what you actually get. Menu doesn't advertise early bird specials, but website does. Working off that, and arriving before 5:30, I ordered the surf and turf. 9 oz. "prime rib" much of it bone(!), five seared scallops, about a dozen steak fries and a racquetball-sized portion of broccoli came to $30. Tasted good, just seemed a little high for the quality and portion. Drinks about $11 each. A $13 order of calamari which was above average, though not especially large. Nice room and very good service (sat at the bar), but for $86 before tip, I guess I expected more in Porter Square. Ambivalent about returning, to be honest. I had a good time, but feeling a touch of buyer's remorse.
