Always a fan of a local place, I have frequented this place when am down for a car service... I always take one of their breakfast bowls, either the southwestern with salsa or the natural... They also add potatoes to the bowl.. Everything is hot and fresh, no complex flavors but simple good food.. Plus they have an whole array of baked goods and a veggie dog??? Need to try that one some other time.. The only downside is the husband didn't like his coffee much and I wish they improved that

Went with a large group of coworkers for lunch. Great beers, cool vibe. It's more of a dinner place not a lunch place. Service was excellent (thanks Cynthia!) I got a side salad and loved the cucumber dressing. Also got the ham and Swiss on a pretzel bun, yummy!! You gotta like German food / trying new things but it's worth coming for the experience! Glad we have it in Columbus now!

Great tuna kabachi. It's my fav. Inconsistent on everything else. I keep trying to love this place and it seems to let me down every other visit. Tonight was one of those nights. I tried a new roll called the Hot Night roll. It was very bland.... Total bummer because it was $13. It's close to home and my son loves their steamed gyoza so we find ourselves there about once a month.

I'm not a coffee person so I can't really comment on that however I know my food and if you want to walk out of breakfast feeling like you have taken part in a food eating contest, this is the place. Their pig newtons are something else. Surprisingly not that greasy considering its pastry filled with sausage and cheese. Definitely give them a try.
Emmer & Rye

***UPDATE*** My initial experience with Emmer and Rye wasn't as amazing as I hoped for. But, they graciously invited me back to try them again and I must say I was utterly blown away this time. A total 180 from our previous visit. Impeccable service, phenomenol presentation, an amazing layer of flavors in each dish and an overall great experience. Both the chef and owner were exceptionally attentive to us and our needs. The time and effort they gave us really made us feel welcome. And the food was insanely incredible this time. Each dish was so different and unique. No dish was similar to the other and trust me they have plenty of dishes to try! I've never seen anything like it. This restaurant is a unique experience and if you're wanting to impress some out of town guests or celebrate a nice evening, definitely come here- I'm positive they'd be floored by this place. I most definitely can't wait to come back here again! ********************************************* Our hostess service was great. Nice and friendly. So the style is you can order a few plates and then get more plates from their dim sum cart. Our dim sum waiter was terrible, he didn't tell us the price of our dishes. We also don't eat pork so we told them at the beginning of our meal and then the dim sum waiter passed us several times. He didn't even bother to explain why he was passing us. It was a good 20 minutes where we were without food. It wasn't until we asked the main waiter that our dim sum waiter didn't come by was when they told us that most of the dim sum dishes had pork in it. So we just sat around eating veggie dishes with no meat dishes in sight. That's just ridiculous and poor service. They offered that we could order their $70 steak but that's not what we came for. I didn't enjoy our experience at all and would never come back here again. With a ton of farm to table restaurants in Austin I wouldn't recommend this place. Go to vox table, swifts attic, launderette or odd duck if you want to have an amazing farm to table experience with impeccable service.
Stephanie's On Newbury

Like most things Newbury-it has a slight tag of pretenion. But isnt that why we love Newbury- Darlin! Parked by Armani, I saw a neon -puke green Lamborghini and some new Porsche model. Anyways, Stephanie's is one of those places where you go on newbury, when you are not quite sure what your plans are or where you will end up that night. I have gone there post 11- the bar is nice, big screens, with sports on. Upstairs for dinner, very old school, wooden panels, outside for brunch-well the most fun spot it is! I like there spinach cheese dip, decent aaps, sangria is like water so avoid that. Decent wine list!
