North By Northwest Restaurant & Brewery - Stonelake

📍 Address: 10010 Capital Of Tx Hwy N, Austin

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)

Everyone including our 2 year-old loved our dinner! I loved the gluten-free menu in particular! The cedar plank salmon was awesome! The pork tenderloin was pretty good too. Skip the fried corn bread, tho, and save room for the entrees! House brews were appreciated by all (adults), too.

Chi'Lantro

📍 Address: 11005 Burnet Rd, Austin

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

The Kimchi fries hype is real. I got it with tofu and it was some of the best tofu I've had as a meal topping ever! And I'm actually fairly picky! It is such a fun and unhealthy meal - would probably not get it too often, but it was a tasty and filling lunch. Food is ordered and made cafeteria style and the line moved fast and wasn't too long, even at peak lunchtime hours. I would probably only come back for the Kimchi fries, but maybe someday I'll branch out and try something else. They definitely have flavors figured out here. One star docked for the cash-only policy, which is classist at best and accidentally racist at worst. Unless a portion of the profits are going towards helping unbanked people find non-predatory banking options, this policy is gross and will deter me from returning because I know I'm supporting a business whose ethics and morals differ substantially from mine (maybe I should thank them for showing their cards, but....eh).

Soul Vegetarian No 2

📍 Address: 652 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)

A good friend of mine was visiting from California and I was so excited to see him. We made plans for lunch and the words that came out of his mouth sent a chill up my spine: Know any vegan places? Oh my geez! VEGAN? You gotta be kidding me! Now I love my meat and I love my seafood but as a Lifetime Weight Watchers Member/Employee I'm trying hard to open my mind and try new, healthier things. After some research I settled on Soul Vegetarian 2 on N. Highland and I must say that what followed was one of the greatest surprises of my life. We were the only two people in the place which made me a bit nervous. It was so clean and we were greeted by a man dressed in all white with an infectious smile. After scanning the menu and trying not to have a panic attack I settled on the Lentil Burger and roasted potatoes and side salad. The burger absolute rocked my damn face off causing a damn near mouth orgasm. It was so perfectly seasoned and flavorful. It was grilled crunchy on the outside and on the inside it was just absolutely divine. The potatoes were perfect as well and my salad was just enough to get things started. My buddy was so impressed by it that he said he wants to come back the next time he visits because it was such a positive vibe to the the experience. If you're even the slightest nervous or scared to give vegan a try, DON'T! Go to this place and they will do you up right. Don't forget to leave room for the vegan carrot cake which was better than any "real" carrot cake I have ever had in my life. I will DEFINITELY be going back and I'll be getting the same thing next time! You better count on it! Take your face to this place!

Hawkers Asian Street Food

📍 Address: 1103 Mills Ave N, Orlando

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

Oh my god I love this place!! Upon returning to Hawkers we found a large 16 top of people had just sat down as we were walking in and a few other tables as well. We waited about ten minutes to get a server due to the confusion over who would be our server apparently. I could see that the hostess alerted another server(that I thought was a cook there) and he came directly to us and gave us the absolute best service anyone could possibly get. He was also very informative about all of our selections and the extensive beer menu(which we LOVE by the way) and an all around very pleasant person. We ordered the roti again(OF COURSE!), summer and spring rolls which we loved AGAIN and we also ordered Coconut Curry Shrimp, Roast Duck Noodle Soup, and the Kimchi Fried Rice....HOLY CRAP, they were amazing! I mean if you know good food and their perfect balance of flavors, how could you not absolutely love this place?! The Roast Duck Noodle Soup was superb. The broth was almost as clear as water, very much like a consumme...and like a good consumme, packed with flavor while being very delicate at the same time. Amanda is not the biggest duck fan and even she agreed that it was very good but she was ecstatic over the Kimchi Fried Rice(as was I) and the Coconut Curry Shrimp served with that same perfect curry dipping sauce (as the roti bread) was awesome! I gotta tell ya, this place is "something else" that EVERYONE should get involved with. Between the rediculous good food and the amazing service we got today, this is our absolute favorite neighborhood place to eat!! Oh my god, I almost forgot the delicious dessert, a trio of creme brulee(milk, thai, and green tea) were so decadent yet not overly rich, or too thick. It was perfect! LISTEN!! Get yourself, your family, your friends, and anyone you meet on the street over to Hawkers(almost directly across from Wills Pub) on Mills Avenue...you can thank me later.lol by the way...you can add the 5 stars above to the 5 stars I gave the first time:-)

Pastamore Ristorante & Market

📍 Address: 6000 Universal Blvd, Ste 700, Orlando

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐ (2)

This is probably as bad as fast food gets. We stopped here around 4pm when the full service portion of the restaurant was closed. We were looking for a quick snack (preferably something sweet) before heading back to our hotel from Universal Studios. Asides from the fact that the whole place was dirty, there were two major turn offs, one obviously worse than the other. 1. The woman at the counter was not only unfriendly, she was incredibly confused when we asked for a glass of water to go along with our order. It wasn't exactly a complicated request. 2. (and this was the bigger one) Neither the Heath bar cookie nor the Tiramisu cake were anything near fresh. Not just late in the day unfresh, but unlikely to have been made that week unfresh. We weren't in a very picky mood and still threw both items away after a only a few bites. No thanks, I won't be returning.
