Pure is a fantastic restaurant in the heart of Inman Park. My favorite things about Pure are the patio with great people watching, the margaritas, and the reliably good service. This is a great restaurant for lunch, dinner, or a quick drink at the bar. I have friends that are obsessed, obsessed I tell you, with the Sedgwick margarita. As in must get one if we are in the neighborhood and convinced it is the best margarita in Atlanta. The house margarita is more my pace; it has a little more sugar and a little less tequila. Regardless of how you like your margaritas, I have faith there is one here that will be to your loving. Food wise I am never disappointed. I'm a big fan of the shrimp tacos, and am often impressed by their specials. The Cuban sandwich is one of my favorites on the menu. It is huge, definitely big enough to share (particularly considering you'll need room in your tummy for the chips guac and salsa and margaritas). I have always loved Pure, but now its moved even further up on my list since it's easily accessible from the beltline. For those not inclined to bike here, valet parking is available.

I keep trying new places as i have had the opportunity to travel the world and eat in some of the best restaurants. My taste spans the globe from China to India to Europe and Latin America. Once in a while I find a place that has a high score or a very positive reputation that always leaves me wondering how can this be. Sometimes I chalk it up to a bad Chef day, to busy, ate off peak time, my own feelings that day, etc. I can honestly say, this time is was not me. I went with my girl friend and her sons for his graduation dinner two weeks back. We ordered the Pig's Head, Three Pork Delight, Octopus, and Marrow appetizer. With the exception of the Octopus the rest of the food was off the charts bad. I took away a major trend from this place = The Chef/Owner did a great job in marketing his place and for the fact that most Boston restaurants don't really know what good food is, people flock to this place to be seen. For 500 bucks, yes 500, we could have gone to the North End and ate for a week. the meal was not worth 5 dollars. The Chef should be "Chopped" or go back to school for a long time. If it was possible to give this place a lower rating here i would do it!
Anchan House of Thai Food
📍 Address: 373 Washington St, Braintree

As someone who grew up in Los Angeles, when I moved to Braintree, MA I felt a massive culture shock. The flavor in food was like finding a needle in a haystack. The first time I went to this restaurant was when it was called something else and under different management. I was so disappointed when the restaurant closed, but SO HAPPY that it was replaced with another Thai Food place, Anchan. They deliver to most of Braintree proper, and they're pretty quick too! The food is still tasty and has that authentic flavor, not the watered down, New England style. I love this place, and keep trying new dishes each time. Everything has been fantastic so far! A word of warning for my fellow New Englanders, they are a bit heavy handed with the spice on some days. So if you say you want a spicy level 3, be prepared for a surprise if it's not spicy at all or melting your face off.
MeeT in Yaletown

I came here with my friends and we ordered from the poutine menu. We ordered some light vegan snacks from the menu and I got the K Town Poutine, which was garnished with kimchi, green onions, and dried seaweed, on top of the other poutine staples, and a creamy miso gravy (and what was likely vegetarian cheese). The miso gravy was enjoyable because it wasn't overly salty as you would expect from miso, and the fries were not overdone either. It was really easy to have conversation in the restaurant, and it was quite comfortable. It wasn't too busy that day, and the service and fast and friendly, and the restaurant was clean, trendy, and dimly-lit (for that nighttime bar feeling). The price was a bit more than I would like, but I expect that from restaurants in Vancouver. Also because it's a vegan restaurant, with the majority of its menu items appearing meat-free. The good service, convenient location, and intriguing menu options may draw me to visit again.
Marcelino's

Since I live in the Taco Capital of the World, as anointed by the New York Times, I figured it was high time to brush myself up on the local taco scene. I'm not one of the critics who foamed at the mouth when Austin was lauded by the effete intellectual New York rag (but I mean really, what the hell do they know anyways?), but I come from South Texas where tacos are, let's just say much heftier than they are here. So are the people coincidentally, but there's more reason for that than the tacos. I do dispute Austin as Taco Capitol USA because when most places can't even make a decent tortilla, you can't possibly start wearing superlatives as best of anything Tex-Mex. That said, for a taco done by Austin standards (in rubbery bite-size tortillas), these are pretty good. The place is a treat in itself. Everything is open - there are no secrets in this kitchen, though maybe the mysterious velveeta-like cheese that they use should in fact be out of sight. The tacos are small but they are also dirt cheap. 2 tacos and a very large coffee runs under 5 bucks, and they do take cards.
