Antica Posta Ristorante Toscano

📍 Address: 519 E Paces Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta

Stars: (3.5)

Antica Posta is a family-owned restaurant which can be seen and felt. The Tuscan style and quality of the food are simply said superior. Prior to my first visit here, el pulpo gallego I used to eat in Spain was my reference of the respective genre. Now, I have the Tuscan variant as a competing reference thanks to this restaurant. The apetizer-sized portion of sliced octopus was simply an experience of its own, so tasty and soft it was. I selected osso buco for entree which I can compare with warm butter as for the tenderness. The elegant presentation and rich yet silky smooth flavors were such an enjoyment it is far beyond my ability to express the feeling in English or any other known languages. Assolutamente fantastico! The cheese plate was pretty much perfect with the Illy espresso. I could not decide which of the cheeses to select so the personnel prepared me kindly a mix. Combined with nicely balanced Tuscan red wine, what else I need to claim that this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta as of today.

Ruth's Chris Steak House

📍 Address: 45 School St, Boston

The food never disappoints. The steaks are always cooked just well enough. I got the filet mignon and sweet potato casserole which was beyond delicious. The experience would've been perfect if the service was better. As a young foodie the wait staff did not treat me and my date very well. For a meal that costed roughly 70 dollars a person you would expect they would wait on you whether you were young or old. My date has been going there for the past 5 years for all his special occasions. He goes there because he enjoys the ambience here. Other times he and I have gone, it has been okay but it seems like the staff always prioritizes the other diners. The wait staff gave the other diners complimentary bread to start which my table was not given. The wait staff was okay with refilling drinks but later when the plates from the entrées were cleared, no one cleaned the dirty table for us before dessert. The wait staff also only came by once during our meal. Each time they came by my date and I said thank you and they just looked unhappy. My expresso was delicious with a great rock candy to sweeten it up. The food I give a full 5 stars. The service really was a deal breaker. Idk if it was because we were young but I always give a tip accordingly. If I feel satisfied I ALWAYS leave a 30% tip but this experience really was not great at all. I left a tip which I felt was necessary. The hostess was the only nice wait staff we encountered during our anniversary dinner. Overall the food was good but experience was only mediocre because of the treatment we were giving while we were there.

Famas Pizza and Pasta

📍 Address: 5474 Central Florida Pkwy, Orlando

Great place! Was on vacation in Orlando and wanted someplace close for some Italian food. Cute little pizzeria/restaurant. Food was excellent and service was top notch. I'm from Northern NJ where we have tons of Italian restaurants and I would put Famas right up there with some of my favorites.

Aki Restaurant

📍 Address: 7460 Universal Blvd, Orlando

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I am vegan and have food allergies mainly to dairy products. If you are vegan this restaurant provide you with many different choices for food. There is somebody that cooks your food and can make alterations to the menu as needed. The salads are good as is the sushi. This is more of a traditional restaurant so you won't have all those fusion sushi rolls that some of the bigger chains have. They have a good selection of sake and their green tea is well brewed. This restaurant does not except credit cards on bills below five dollars so if you're not ordering a lot of food remember to bring cash. They have a wonderful happy hour at this restaurant but remember it gets extremely crowded as it is a popular time of day. If you're into it they have a private karaoke room where you could go and sing your heart out.

The Salt Lick BBQ

📍 Address: 18300 Fm 1826, Driftwood

Drove almost 2 hours out of our way after watching this place on one of the "food" shows. The place has a great atmosphere but I suggest bring your own food. The best thing we ate that day was the pickles. Brisket was very dry and tough, beef ribs were overcooked, pork ribs were just ok. Beans taste straight out of a can, not exactly sure what kind of potato salad that was but we did not enjoy it. The coleslaw tasted like plain cabbage. I also ordered sweet tea, this tasted like it was Nestea out of a can. We did order ours to go and sat under the shade trees on the property instead of the 1-1/2 hour wait to eat inside (for this I am glad we did not wait). Have not figured out how they draw so many customers with the food we ate that day. Ads are kind of deceiving as well because they are cooking meat in enclosed smokers outside as well as the pit inside that is very prominent in their ads. Not to mention if you are on a motorcycle you have to park in the main lot with all trucks and cars (large lot). They do have room near building to park motorcycles but will not allow it.
