Universal Orlando Resort

📍 Address: 6000 Universal Studios Plz, Orlando

Stars: (3.5)

We did a one-day Universal Studios only pass for an October Saturday. Here are my quick thoughts on each attraction, along with wait times: Shrek 4-D: Some funny lines but overall not that impressive. Rest of my group really thought it was a waste. No major motion in the ride. 15 min wait. Despicable Me: We all really enjoyed this ride (even though none of us have seen the movie), and it had some fun motion. 1 hour wait. Magic Show: This was a 15 minute magic show and it was enjoyable. Recommend it for adults and kids. No wait. Horror Make-up show: This was entertaining, as I enjoy horror movies. It is a mix of movie clips and live action. It actually has a lot of comedy in it. No wait. Twister: The intro videos as you go from room to room were quite boring. And the TVs were old-style tube TVs (why not upgrade to HDTV?). The actual show itself was fun though, especially at the end when the fire and damage occurs. 30 min wait. Mummy: Very entertaining indoor roller coaster. I don't like roller coasters because of the deep drops, but this one was easy to do (there are no big drops, just a lot of speed). 1 hour wait. Disaster: Terrible, and a big waste of time. All of us disliked it. 20 min wait. Simpsons: Fantastic! I didn't expect much because I thought it was going to be a kiddie ride. But it was a really entertaining motion simulator. All of us loved it, even those that aren't Simpsons fans. 45 min wait. Men in Black: I didn't get to ride it but the people that went said it was terrible, and a waste of time. Rock n Roll Roller Coaster: I didn't go on this but the group loved it. Beetlejuice Show: Pretty cheesy, with a lot of dated references (e.g. Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton). Overall, there are some fun rides. But like others have stated, Universal Studios is definitely showing its age. I was disappointed by the value overall, since tickets are so expensive. I would check out Islands of Adventure if you want some newer rides.

Stephy's Kitchen

📍 Address: 41 Beckford St, Beverly

This place is great not fancy but the best fast food around for breakfast. The waitresses are fast and friendly the food is good and not expensive. IT does get crowded so you may have to wait to be seated.

Giacomo's Ristorante - Boston

📍 Address: 355 Hanover St, Boston

Got there at 5:10pm on a rainy Wednesday and waited for about 15 minutes (not bad based on the crowd). The waitstaff moves quickly and efficiently. Menu options were good (a few vegetarian choices as well). The calamari appetizer (small) was a good portion for two with a scrumptious spicy red sauce (fra diavolo). We had the shrimp and scallops with fra diavolo and one of the "specials" portabello mushroom ravioli with pesto sauce and red peppers. Delicious, but not a remarkable flavor. Definitely recommend - but expect to wait in line, sit in cramped quarters, and pay in cash only. If you know what to expect, you'll enjoy your experience.

Red Lentil Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurant

📍 Address: 600 Mt Auburn St, Watertown

I went here for brunch this weekend. To be fair, I didn't realize I was going for brunch and was looking forward to their regular menu. The brunch was good, but i'm not 100% sure it is worth going to Watertown for. I will definitely be back to try their dinner/lunch menu though :-)

Atlanta Breakfast Club

📍 Address: 249 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd, Atlanta

Came here with my family after hearing great things. Had a friendly server who greeted us promptly. We ordered the french toast, southern style breakfast, crispy chicken biscuit, and the southern Benedict, all of which were wonderful. There was an issue with the ticketing system and we ended up waiting for a bit to get our meal. We mentioned the wait to the hostess and she brought over the owners who apologized for the wait and explained the issue that occurred. We got our meal promptly after he spoke with us. When the check arrived he had covered the bill and wrote a note apologizing for the inconvenience. Despite the issue, great restaurant and well run establishment.

Little Bangkok

I wasn't really impressed - I agree with another reviewer on here that the food seemed to have more of Chinese flair to it than Thai. And yes, parking is quite ridiculous.
