Pure Taqueria

In the year that I lived in ATL, I suspect that I probably went to Pure Taqueria somewhere around 40 times. Mexican is my favorite style of food, and while ATL has lots of wonderful Mexican offerings, at the top of my list has alway been Pure. The list of margs is decorated and delicious, and even if margs aren't you're thing (lol yeah right) their other cocktails and wine/beer list (hello $2 Black Label) are sure to offer something you're into. Also, even among the negative reviews, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who thinks that the space/atmosphere is in any way lacking. Reading through some of the more negative reviews of this place, I can't help but assume that anyone who was dissatisfied with the food did not have the crown jewel of Pure, the Burrito Americano. The Burrito Americano is everything. It is life and death. It is light and darkness. It is beginning and end and it will never disappoint. Other menu highlights include but are not limited to: the Guacamole, Queso con Todo, Chicken Tacos, Puerco al Pastor tacos, Cochinita Pibil, Tostada de Tinga, and the Lamburguesa.

I'm Polish so I grew up eating perogies, stuffed cabbage, and kielbasa so eating here brought me so much joy. There are not many Polish places around Orlando area, but this place was so good that I do not even need any other place. All the dishes tasted fresh and homemade. In kind of an odd location, but definitely worth the drive!

Let me start by saying I don't eat red meat or pork. Yup and I went with my husband and daughter to a BBQ joint. I do eat chicken which I ordered, I had the 1/2 chicken. It tasted really good but was bloody. I guess I'm not used to bloody chicken. My husband got the "Rancher" he LOVED it! He demanded that I try the turkey which I did and I'm so happy I did. It was delish. My husband said it might have been the best turkey he had ever had. *you will wait for a while to be sat but once your sat your food comes fast *you can bring a cooler of beer or wine and tailgate before your sat outside *Oh and order the pecan pie
5 Seasons North

Two stars is generous. The beer is good, so that gets an extra star. But the food, not so much. I had a $17 plate of 3 fish tacos with about a teaspoon full of salty, tiny cubes of something that might have been fish between them. Add a mini scoop of rice and another of black beans that were both tasteless and you get a wildly overpriced plate that would have been too expensive at half that much. Server never checked back with our party of 6 to see how things were or refill waters, even though it wasn't busy at the time. Go for a beer and leave for food at a better place.
The Brewer's Table

I heard about The Brewers Table from a friend. I thought the concept sounded cool, so I was excited to finally hear it opened this week. My wife and I had lunch there on Friday and we were blown away. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We decided to go with her recommendation on the entrees and we were glad we did. We shared the chicken skewers, which were top notch, especially the farmers cheese dip and the pita bread made on the grill in front of us. We also shared the hearth burger. That burger melted in my mouth, I will want to try new things when I go back, so it's going to be a tough decision. Try something new or stick with that sweet sweet burger?
