Tijuana Flats

Let's face it, there aren't many good Mexican food places in Orlando. I'm sorry, but Floridian Mexican food is nothing compared to Mexican food in California, Arizona and Texas. Tijuana Flats is tasty, fresh and not one's average burrito place. They have many locations in several states so there's always one nearby. I loved it so much I had them cater a party I threw. (And they delivered for free!) I strongly suggest Tijuana Flats if you're hungry for good tacos, burritos, nachos and yummy hot sauce!

Sunday morning hangovers are the worst. Trying to find something to eat asap to soak up the liquor is even worse when every single brunch place is on a wait. However, we hawk eyed the bar top and swooped in right away and skipped the wait! But if you insist on a table, you are welcome to drinks or coffee which is nice. Our bartender was awesome. He was quick, friendly, knowledgable and suggestive. It's tapas style, which is something I have never encountered in a breakfast setting, but I liked it. So the plates came out staggered, which left my fiancé drooling waiting for his food, but he survived. We ordered the smaller portion potatoes bravos, steak n eggs, and I had to try their kimchi. It was all phenomenal and full of flavor. Especially the steak n eggs on top of the jalapeño corn bread. OMG. I wish we could have stomached a bloody mary cause they looked BOMB. And in case you were still worried about my hangover, Tasty was the medicine I needed. Also something I found to be really interesting and being in the industry myself, I wish they had at all restaurants, was a tip line for the kitchen on the receipt. So you can give the kitchen a little love for all the hard work they do. ;)

Pasta Da Pulcinella
📍 Address: 1123 Peachtree Walk NE, Atlanta

We had a bit of a hard time finding this place, which I'm surprised no one else has alluded to. I guess our GPS unit is a big flake. While we stood on the corner where Pasta da Pulcinella supposedly was, we asked someone where we could actually find it. He didn't know, either. He said he heard a lot about it and that he lives right down the street, but doesn't actually know where it is. Then I overheard some loudmouth across the street bragging about his front row seats to the game and how he was walking over to Pasta da Pulcinella to have dinner first. So I followed him. Best stalking I've ever done. We were seated quickly. Service was attentive and allowed for conversation. The restaurant is very cozy and intimate. I had the oft-praised tortelli de mele. I will not contradict the drooling accolades. It's very good. We also tried the caprese [which wasn't on the winter menu, but they made it for us, anyway]. Thoroughly yummy. The chicken cannelloni was robust and delicious. We tried a couple of the evening specials and they were well received, too. The creme brulee was on the chill-with-the-blowtorch-side, but the chocolate mousse was solid. Now that I know where this place is, I see my carb intake easily doubling.
