I am visiting from out of town. The baklava is delightful! You need an employee to pick out pieces. They will weigh the pastries for a final price. I also bought a loaf of European white bread. It had a nice outer crust and soft inside. The flavor has a hint of sourdough which was great.

Went here for the first time last week while on business in Boston. We sat upstairs, which was nice and roomy. Our server Christine was amazing, in spite of the fact the place was packed. I had the calamari, lobster raviolis and steak cacciatore. The calamari was the best I have ever had. I would fly across the country again for that calamari. The old fashions were excellent and the lemoncelli was delicisous. We left stuffed and looking forward to our next trip to the North End.
Smokehouse 21

It smells and taste delicious. The brisket was quite good. We also tried the sampler plate with the pulled pork, the ribs, and the spicey sausage. Their corn bread muffin was the balm. Corn on the cob, mac and cheese, bbq beans, and potato salad rounded out our sides. They all were very good. Would not hesitate to head back. Service was quick and efficient. This place almost seems hidden away on 21st, but its across from Ken's Bakery. The space is small, but comfortable.

Overall, this is a great place for the food and you feel as though menu price is justified. The servers were quick and attentive and this a great place to return repeatedly.
Midwest Grill Brazilian BBQ

Lots of meat ... on a stick. At first, I was a little scared because it isn't normal to see big guys brandishing spears in crowded places with well-stocked bars. That said, the meat was delicious. Other reviewers have praised the chicken and bacon, but the lamb was surprisingly good. And the buffet might seem like filler, but some of the stews were delicious. My favorite part of the meal actually wasn't meat but the grilled pineapple, which had been roasted on a spit and dusted with cinnamon--a nice palate cleanser after you've chowed down. And what would a meaty meal be without some refreshing drinks? The caipirinha, sweet and rummy, will make you think you've discovered meat-lover's heaven. One star off because it really is crowded, and it is hard for the wait staff and customers to navigate all the tables. I understand the restaurant is working in volume, but a buffet needs a little breathing room.
Tonic
📍 Address: 1316 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton
⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐ (2.5)
Tonid is an ambient, classy bar and lounge that maintains a more sophisticated crowd than your surrounding pubs. Drinks are a bit more expensive, which is somewhat annoying, but the atmosphere is worth it. This is classy place to take your date for drinks.
