Hops N Scotch
📍 Address: 1306 Beacon St, Brookline
⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)
Put it this way - I sent my meal back and was not brave enough to go in for another round. On top of this, for a place that is named after beer and scotch - the beer menu is lazy and unimpressive - particularly when it comes to hoppy beers. Go figure. I say this place lasts a little bit while the gastropub trend passes bye, then, see ya later Hops N Scotch. All this said the service was actually great. They were nice enough to come over and ask why I sent my food back.

For the best Wings in town, this is the place!!! It is a hole in the wall, but the have some serious wings. Served on pizza trays, the wings are usually very big, not puny. A variety of flavors, but I go for Mild, which is comporable to medium at other places. Clay's is in a small strip of about 4 store fronts, with plenty of parking. If you want some great wings, this is the place!
Black Point

Alright... I went back today and I have to retract my previous review only because my experience was significantly different than my previous. Not sure if management changed or if they placed additional staff to help support the restaurant but my experience was nothing but exceptional. The service was on point and I had the filet mignon w/ the butter truffle (yum! Highly recommend) - which was fantastic. My boyfriend also had the crown jewel, which I highly recommend. The crab claws are amazing for appetizer, wine list was good, overall a very differe experience from before. Five stars for this place and yes, I'd go back for some more! If you've gone to black point before as I did and had a less than sub par experience, I suggest you give it a try again!
Yard House
📍 Address: 888 SW 5th Ave, Portland

Yes, it's a chain restaurant but the food is honestly, really good. I tried the friend chicken, garlic noodles, and Kalbi beef. Although the coconut shrimp could use some work. They have a ton of beer here and their cocktails are pretty good.
Contigo
📍 Address: 2027 Anchor Ln, Austin

Contigo Austin is fantastic! I have been here at least 5 times since August and have enjoyed my experience every time. The food is great - I Highly recommend the crispy green beans, pigs in a blanket, PEI Mussels... actually let's be honest everything is amazing and my fiancee and I usually order half the menu. I would also recommend trying their brunch on Saturday or Sunday - unique breakfast items and homemade donuts/pastries. This is definitely a place to take out of town guests as it's very unique and a great addition to the Austin food scene. I have always received great service from the staff too!

Worth a special trip or at least a stop a little bit out of the way during your special trip. Loved the Noisettes and the baklava were outstanding. The tiramisu, chocolate éclairs, and napoleons were ok but not much better than average. Fun energy to the place and overflowing selection; their signature fruit cakes (not to be confused with holiday fruitcakes) looked delicious and would likely be well worth a purchase. The coffee was good.
