Two Urban Licks

📍 Address: 820 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4)

Came here on a date night. To;dr version - good location, service was good, food was okay, atmosphere was marginal, parking is atrocious. Located right on the beltline between Ralph McGill and North Ave. Getting there is easy when the weather is nice, but when it's not, it's a pain. The parking lot is a shit show - parking with the valet (both Bully Boy and 2UL) has taken 10 minutes at best and 35 minutes at worst. Picking up has been 5 - 20 minutes. Pro tip: just don't drive. We have been twice to 2UL and the ambience is nice. The smoke from the kitchen is really strong, so if you have asthma, bring an inhaler. Our first time we were seated upstairs, and it was so smoky I felt like we were in a hotbox. I had to send my jacket to the cleaners it smelled so strong. Service is great. Waiter and secondary waiter for every table... they stayed on top of things. Food is just okay. Expensive, nothing special, just okay. I had the brisket and it's supposed to be amazing... it was okay. All in all, I've never been that impressed by any of the concentrics restaurants, and this doesn't change that.

McMenamins Kennedy School

📍 Address: 5736 NE 33rd Ave., Portland

Mcmenamins is a decrease to Oregon! I have never been a fan of this business, but my last encounter will have me telling everyone about my disscust for this establishment. I am a local; not a transplant, not a tourist. I have never been a fan of bad beer, subpar sisco delivered food, or sleeping on uncomfortable beds topped with Alsco linens. I was asked by friends to help out with an event, they were having at the School. After parking I got out and greeted my friends who handed me a beer, good beer, Lagunitas. Did I mention the beers at mcmenamins in my opinion the worst brew Oregon has to offer? Anyway, as I was talking, a man came charging up to us, and with a very hostel tone asked me if I was drinking an outside beer? I informed him that yes I was outside, Argo this was an outside beer. I then introduced myself still thinking he was part of the party that I was with. He introduced himself as Sean Mcmenamin, than tryed to gab my beer as he told me "I'll pour that out for you" I informed him he would not and I walked off his property to finish my beer. Hay SEAN MCMENAMIN! just a few suggestions for you. 1. Post a sign! I have never stayed at a hotel where I could not bring my own beer. 2. You work in the hospitality business, try using a hospitable approach, if you talk to people. 3. Just don't talk to people, you clearly lack the social graces that you need for that. 4. Your beer is gross, get used to people not wanting to drink it. 5. I look forward to telling people the truth about what a sham I believe you business to be. 6. If you are going to insult the guests at your establishment, DON'T tell them who you are.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Must try the Mac n cheese and fried pies w/ ice cream.

Equinox Restaurant and Bar

📍 Address: 830 N Shaver St, Portland

Stars: (3.5)

My meal had issues, but I will give them three stars for how they responded to the situation, like with most of the meal being free. First of all they were busy, but isn't that a good thing. They had some failings and gave me like the wrong thing. However the bloody mary tasted good, though I left very unsure on the alcohol volume, and I am kind of a light weight at breakfast. However I have been there twice, and it is A-OK, yes 3 stars A-OK, just not stellar, and honestly there are so many options why spend your hard earned skrilla on mistakes, eh?

The Berry Tavern

📍 Address: 2 High St, Danvers

Stars: (3)

I stopped by the other night with my son to have a few beers. I liked the decor of the restaurant. The bar area looked cool and the barmaid was quite friendly and helpful. She described their beers on tap and offered us a taste sample. The beers we chose were really good! We did not eat, but the food seemed freshly prepared from an open kitchen and everyone appeared to have enjoyed their meals.

Steak ’n Shake

📍 Address: 1880 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus

I would give this place zero stars if I could! DO NOT EAT HERE! First, we waited at the door to be seated for about 10 minutes with no one acknowledging we were there. While we were standing there, I watched the cook touch RAW MEAT with his BARE HANDS, no gloves, and continue to cook touching all the utensils. He then made a sandwich without even washing his hands! After her touched all the raw meat and everything else!! So gross. Then when we were finally seated we sat there again for 15+ minutes without ANYONE coming to our table. We left and grabbed dinner elsewhere. If you want to eat without getting ecoli or having to wait 45 minutes before someone acknowledged you, then I'd go somewhere else. Plenty of other places at Polaris. I repeat, DO NOT EAT HERE.
