Bouldin Creek Cafe

📍 Address: 1900 S 1st St, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

Get the leek and potato omelet, you won't regret it. I love that BCC has so many vegetarian/vegan - friendly options. While I'm neither of these, their food is so taste bud-friendly that I always suggest BCC for brunch with friends. It has a fun, Austin vibe to it, and I hope it'll be around forever!

Victoria Seafood Restaurant

📍 Address: 1029 Commonwealth Ave, Boston

Stars: (3.5)

The first time I went here I could not decide what I wanted since the menu is so big. I told the guy that I wanted a noodle dish with thin noodles like vermicilli. They do not have vermicili but he told me they use something like it. I told I wanted something spicy so he made something up for me. It was good, not exactly what I wanted, but I loved the fact that he took the time to talk to me and help me out. Since then I have been back several times. The food is so good! One of my favorite things to get is the tid bit plate because I can choose 4 things out of 11 things. Their crab ragoon is typical but plump with filling so I always get them. Their pork dumplings are also good. Again typical Chinese food fare so we always get them. I really like their shrimp egg foo young. You get 3 big egg inlets packed with veggies and shrimp. They are served in a thin sauce. I get extra white rice with it so I can have my rice soak up the sauce. Egg foo young with rice and covered with siracha sauce is a great dinner. Plus it makes good leftovers. I always get take out so I don't know about their service but they do get my take out done quickly.

Two Urban Licks

📍 Address: 820 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Atlanta

Stars: (4)

I've heard about Two Urban Licks for quite some time, and to celebrate my mom's birthday I finally got to go. DE-FRIGGIN-LICIOUS!! Our service was spectacular...Billy was thoughtful and honest and had great taste. As for the food, the thai tuna tartar was fantastic and a fresh. It had a spicy but not too spicy kick in the mayo. The fried green tomatoes were also really good, but the best part of them was the celery...it was crunchy and was really good in the sauce. For my entree I got the white bass with sunchokes, onions, cream peas, and polenta. The bass was so fresh tasting, and the peas were creamy without being overly-rich. The sunchokes added a nice contrast in texture, and the polenta was just deliciousness to the umpteenth degree. For dessert we got a spiced chocolate lava cake with espresso ice cream. After some debate with Billy over the caffeine concentration in espresso ice cream, I decided just to go for it. I'm glad I did. The kick of cayenne at the end made it so different, and definitely in a good way. For a cocktail I got some sort of purple rum drink with lilacs in it. It could have used a little more citrus, but I didn't squeeze my lime (not a big fan of limes in drinks...too many gin and tonics in my past I suppose). All in all, quite fantastic. Plus, there was a storm last night and we were able to see the lightening over the city out of the huge windows. The view was spectacular. Also a bonus, the valet parking was under an awning, so we didn't even get wet. Lastly, the restrooms are pretty swanky. I'm returning the second I get some spare cash or can convince my parents to foot the bill. I would definitely lick this place twice! (that was lame....)

Brickhouse Pizza & Grille

📍 Address: 256 Washington St, Brighton

Stars: (4)

Went here quite a bit during the year I lived in Brighton. I never tried the pizza, mainly because I'm a fan of thicker crust, but I had several of the grinders and they were all great. Not a lot of room to eat inside but it works to grab some food on the go. Pricier than Subway but it's better quality - the meatball sub in particular was outstanding.

Pasquales Pizza And Pasta House

📍 Address: 14 N State St, Westerville

Stars: (3.5)

A Westerville tradition. I bring my family here quite a bit for pizza. The kids get to play with dough while waiting for our food - something they really enjoy. The pizza is good, but we come here for the Friscos! The perfect dessert: peanut butter and chocolate sandwiched between two peanut butter cookies with chocolate drizzled on top. Although, be careful, one of these can be enough for two...
