Poor Calvin's
📍 Address: 510 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta

Wow.... I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, one of the foodie capitals of the world, and I boasted that one can find just about every style of cuisine there. There is nothing like Poor Calvin's in the Bay. The blend of southern comfort and Asian styles is out of this world. Imaginative cuisine. Impeccable service. Generous portions. The best restaurants are the ones that make memories. I will remember my dinner at Poor Calvin's for a long, long time. Every dish my party ordered was fantastic. I especially enjoyed the PHO cocktail, the lobster special (stir-fried lobster over a bed of rice and vegetables), and the fried chicken. Wow. Just wow. Will be back next time I am in Atlanta.

Great food, authentic, kosher, and fairly priced! We had the falafel pita and the schwarma, both were great. Friendly staff from Israel. Will definitely go back.

Ok. People, This is a re-edited version. Last I wrote this place to be my favourite Indian Resteraunt in Atlanta for Punjabi. I've rescinded my position ever since with Cafe Bombay taking the helm purely coz of Cafe Bombay's Shahi Paneer and Butter bullet naan/ garlic naans. Anyways I've changed my rating of Panahar from 4 to 3 stars. Its Saag Aaloo and Malai Kofta are really good. But their paneer kadhai or motor paneer or chana or daal just plain and simple suck. Not up to the mark. I'm sorry but the naans were horrible and so was the biryani. If I came here again, I'd probably come for the Malai kofta and/or Saag Aaloo. I say this as I've eaten food from this place (either take aways or friends ordering food or whatever) a substantial number of times ever since my last review 6 months back)

I ate here with a coworker for the first time. I was surprised by their wide selection of food, from shrimp tacos to steak tips. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The BEST part was the bread and oil they serve before the meal. YUUUUUM! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This place was recommended by everyone we spoke to when we arrived in Atlanta. I ordered the Smothered Chicken over Rice and Gravy with Mac & Cheese & Vegetable Medley, and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. For dessert, a light & done to perfection-Peach Cobbler. All, OUTSTANDING! The chicken was juicy, batter was light & crispy, and the Collard Greens were done just right. All flavorful and amazed with every bite. Definitely a place to stop by & grab yourself a fantastic meal!
