I am in love with their thin crust pepperoni pizza and Tiramisu!! One of my top 3 pizza places here in Austin!

Home Slice Pizza

📍 Address: 1415 S Congress St, Austin

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5)

Have I seriously not reviewed Homeslice? I was just looking through the reviews and didn't see one from me, this is an injust oversight on my part. I'm sorry Homeslice. I have a weird love for dine-in pizza. It reminds me of being a kid, and my mom and her friends would take all the kids to Mr. Gatti's (this was back when Gatti's wasn't ghetto) and we would play (sit down!) Pac-Man and watch the big screen TV when all of the dads were out of town. Homeslice reminds me of that, but without the TV or Video games, which is just fine by me. Also? In high school, there was this girl named Nikki who I was friends with (well, I always said she was fun to party with but I wouldn't trust her fars I could throw her, so maybe "friends" is too strong a word) who used to thrust her crotch out while grabbing it and go, "Fuck off, Homeslice." So the name makes me giggle all the time thinking about that chick doing that. As for the pizza, damn that is good pizza. I like foldable, thin crust pizza with minimal toppings. In fact, I prefer just a plain cheese pizza and Homeslice does a mighty fine job indeed. The sauce is super fresh and not too "pasty" or sweet. The cheese is ooey and gooey and a perfect ratio to the sauce and crust. In addition to the pizza, I love the Greek salad. The dressing is tangy and a little lip puckering, but make sure you ask for the feta on the side as they have a tendency to over-feta. At work, we've decided that when the lone male on our team isn't with us, we're going to go to Homeslice for "Cougar Lunch" because the boys on staff are so damned cute! And so young that a few of us could probably have birthed those boys. Great pizza, awesome salad, and cute young boys. What more could a cougar ask for in a restaurant?

TGI Fridays

📍 Address: 10811 International Dr, Orlando

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐ (2.5)

I haven't had such a bad restaurant experience in a long time, and I usually enjoy TGI Friday's. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 1:45. The lunch crowd was mostly gone and there were multiple parties left in the restaurant, but basically finishing up. There were open tables but we (as a party of five) still waited a few minutes. We all ordered what we thought to be quick , simple meals. Soups, salads, a club sandwich. No big entrees, no meats to cook. Our order was taken at 2pm, one person got his salad at 3pm, and the rest of us got our meals (including other salads) at 3:30pm. What??!!! Three of us ordered soups and there was no spoon in the roll of silverware, so we asked for spoons and the waitress brought dirty spoons out to us. Now I understand that silverware may not be sparkling after the dishwasher - I'm not usually a stickler for looking 'nice' - but one spoon had food crusted on a good portion of the spoon, and another still had sauce on it from someone else's meal. My sister hates to ever voice a complaint but even she was moved to ask for a new spoon. My chicken noodle soup was peppery, and the California Club sandwich was pretty sad - much closer to a premade sandwich that you'd find in a gas station than anything I'd ever expect in a restaurant. Why did this take an hour and a half during a slow part of the day? We originally planned to get dessert but we didn't want to risk waiting until dinnertime to receive it, plus the waitress didn't ask if we wanted anything else anyway.

Mary Mac's Tea Room

📍 Address: 224 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

I always have a good experience at Mary Mac's. The food and service is always quick and delicious. Unfortunately this last time my family was coming from out of town and there were two parties in the restaurant along with us. Our food took abnormally long and we had a game to get to. Long story short manger Cat bagged our food up for us free of charge and literally saved the night. Thank you again.

Voodoo Doughnut - Old Town

📍 Address: 22 SW 3rd Ave, Portland

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5)

I made the obligatory and highly-anticipated stop at Voodoo (twice!) during my trip to Portland. I got to sample quite a few varieties and thoroughly enjoyed all of them! I'm a donut snob so I take this very seriously. The line was fairly long on a Saturday afternoon but was much more manageable on a weekday morning, but my one-star deduction is simply because of the line. It's fun to stand there with all of these other random people who are there for donuts just like you are, but if you really want one now, it can be a problem since you may have to wait for a while. On the bright side, they're open 24/7, and since I continually rant that most of the donut shops in Denver close before dinner, this pleased me greatly. Be aware that they are cash only, though there is an ATM inside the store. The place itself is a riot, with all sorts of goofy posters and trinkets all over the tiny store. But nobody should care that much about the setting; we all know why we're here. The Portland cream is the "official donut" of the city and it was probably the best custard-filled donut I've had. The voodoo donut was creative and also tasty, though I'm not much for raspberry filling. I skipped the maple bacon bar, though they are very popular. My favorite was the raised donut with chocolate icing and Oreo bits, drizzled with peanut butter. There's about a ten-way tie after that, since I liked every one I tried. Mmm... I can't wait to go back and visit again!

Blue Dahlia Bistro

📍 Address: 1115 E 11th St, Austin

⭐ Stars:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

On a good weather day, do sit outside in the back area! It's the perfect place for brunch but the plates can get pricey for some tartines. During happy hour some are discounted for the full portion so I would definitely recommend going then if you're unsure! The plates were beautifully served and the waitress was very sweet. It's a very relaxing environment to talk and eat!
