Wow. I don't get the hype around this place. Maybe I just went on a bad day, but the food was incredibly mediocre. I eat at Daddy D'z all the time, and I thought I'd switch it up. I guess I should have tried Foxx Bros. or Heirloom, because I left incredibly disappointed. As another reviewer mentioned, I long for the day when out of town visitors stop getting sent to these "Atlanta Icons" like The Varisty, Mary Mac's, and Fat Matt's and actually get to experience some decent food!

I hate this place. I really really hate this place. It's terrible, awful, horrid and disgusting. So don't go there - just don't . . . because if enough of you actually don't I might have a shot at actually getting food. I have never ever managed to eat here. I've tried. I get tired of the lovely gent coming out to say. "I can only guarantee food to HERE." (which is still an hour and a half wait . . . after I've been standing there for 30 min anyhow). Sadly - HERE - seems always to be 40 people further up the line than me. Damn you fates. Sigh - I've only ever had Franklin's when it's been catered - and even then when I get the scraps, the leftovers, the remaining bits, the leavings, the picked over . . . AND YET IT STILL TASTES SO GOOD. I can only imagine what it must be like to be able to actually pick up a tray of freshly sliced brisket, sausage and ribs. To sit there bathed in the aroma of smoke and meat. To bite into that first warm, hot, succulent morsel. To have tastebuds delight in the complex flavors. Damn you people. The place is horrible . . . please don't stand in line anymore . . .

Wow. What horrible pizza. It's got that crust that resembles rolls you get at the all-you-can-eat buffet. I really can't believe how bad it is. Customer service was good, and they delivered when they said they would.

I come here every Wednesday for their pork belly taco special. They also have a chile relleno taco special as well as a beef tongue taco special that I tack on to my standard pork belly order (2) sometimes. Their mole fish taco is also amazing! Actually I should just admit that there isn't a taco that I don't like here. Corn over flour. They have a sauce station with different levels of spiciness which is great depending on spice mood. Tip: call in your order and sit outside because during peak hours, parking is a bitch and there aren't that many seats inside so it can get awkward trying to passively snag a table with other fellow hungrymen next to you.

Simply put, the To Go service is HORRIBLE!! I have one particular meal I like and whenever I order it To Go I have to wait an extremely long time for it. Not to mention it's a damn salad..... Had a great meal tonight. Fresh, well seasoned and healthily prepared. And the owners were so welcoming and engaging. I had the Greek salad, which featured homemade feta and a champagne vinaigrette, which was unforgettable. The sampler combo was a satisfying serving size. In terms of a favorite, it was a close tie between the tabouleh and the falafel...falafel had such a delicious taste and texture. I hadn't planned on getting a dessert but after such wonderful savory flavors I was curious about the baklava. I was not disappointed, it was light, crispy and perfectly sweetened.
