Powell's City of Books

📍 Address: 1005 W Burnside St, Portland

Stars: (5)

Reasons why I hate this place: 1) I could easily donate my whole paycheck. Every week. 2) I could easily donate a whole day to this place. Every day. 3) It makes me contemplate that reading books outweighs dating cute boys. Reasons why I love this place: 1) There's a HUGE section of journals so I can write the pros and cons of donating my whole paycheck to Powell's. 2) It's on the other side of the river. It makes it difficult for me to donate everyday to this place. 3) Cute boys read books.

Keke's Breakfast Cafe

📍 Address: 4430 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando

Stars: (4.5)

Service: Naturally friendly. I could tell the waitress was there to do her job and to do it well without being all extra. I hate that. Food came fast and try subbed my eggs for egg whites without a problem or the ol' "I'll have to ask the cook/manager". Food: amazing! The waffle was nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Some folks mess waffles up, but these were done to perfection. The apples on top were a southern classic. My side of bacon was a full 4 strips, not the skimp 2 pieces some restaurants give you. The price and quality was excellent. Usually I don't like going out for breakfast because it's my fave meal of the day and I think a lot of diner places are average, so I'm unwilling to compromise, this restaurant was a gem. Next time I'm in the area, I would definitely return.

Barlow

📍 Address: 737 SW Salmon St, Portland

We stumbled upon this bar randomly and decided to go in because it looked cute. The drinks were awesome! They have a gin drink with egg white that's amazing. And the Bartenders do this cool thing with dry ice that totally blew my mind!

Hit The Spot Cafe

📍 Address: 5121 Albert Brown Rd, Garfield

Stars: (4.5)

I just flew in for the day, I really enjoyed the small town atmosphere. Jessie the owner is awesome. But I saw the pictures of the chicken fried steak. And the waitress recommended it also. So, I did! Hand done and crispy. Wow, what a great breakfast. Yes, chicken fried steak for breakfast. How can you start your day any other way! It was really good, I will be recommending this little hole in wall location to people I fly. Great stuff.

Exile Restaurant & Lounge

📍 Address: 1319 Florida Mall Ave, Orlando

Stars: (3.5)

Thanks to Tim for a great experience. We are in town from up north, and found this place on Groupon. We loved everything including the excellent service with a smile. The wings were delish, ordered mild, but was given a side of King Midas style for an extra kick. Nice sized chicken Nachos. Perfectly flavored Venezuelan burger including a fried egg on top. Kiddos enjoyed sliders and thrilled with generous cup of cherries from the bar. Happy with drink recommendation - yummy Bahama Mama. To top it off, a round of Fireball's on the house!

Pho Basil

📍 Address: 177 Massachusetts Ave, Ste A, Boston

Stars: (4)

I have found that good Thai/Vietnamese places are hard to come by in Boston. Pho Basil far exceeded my expectations. The food was great and not overpriced and the atmosphere was welcoming, cozy, and nice. Will definitely be returning to Pho Basil!
