Focaccia

Four of us went to Focaccia earlier this evening. The restaurant itself is clean and relatively well appointed. We started off with complimentary focaccia bread and dipping oil. This was perhaps the high point of the meal. The menu was uninspired, and had typical red sauce favorites. It was also fairly expensive, with most meals over $20. One could easily pay less for the same meal at a restaurant in a suburb closer to Boston. We ordered garlic bread, which was nothing more than toasted, sliced French bread with pesto smeared on top. I got the veal focaccia, which was basically just veal marsala with shrimp and cheese. Odd, I know, and not the best meal I've ever had. The cheese wasn't even completely melted when they brought the plate out. I'm glad I got to experience this place because I've heard a lot about it, but I won't be going back. I honestly don't understand how Phantom Gourmet can rave about this place.

Ate dinner here tonight. Not too impressed with food. The piece of seared Foie gras was about one bite worth. It's served beautifully, though. Lobster risotto was flavorful but not amazing. Dessert had excellent presentation but lacked taste and flavor. Overall, not a place I would return too. It's quite noisy in the dining room upstairs.

Wow the pizza here is amazing!! I would absolutely recommend and also try the Margherita, so fresh and so good! I came with my family and we sat outside at basecamp for a nice little evening. The pizza was so good we actually went back to order more. The only reason I can't give 5 stars and I am actually super bummed about this is their wait times. The girl just says 10 minutes no matter what (I like a sucker of a server tipped generously before the food came) and the second time we ordered it took over 30 minutes. When I went up to the cart they apologized and said a large order of 6 pizzas was right before me. Now all you had to do was say that the first time instead of a quick 10 min and you would have had me leaving happy, leaving 5 stars and I would have eaten there again last night. I do wish the prices were a little friendlier, but I'll probably still come back.

Atmosphere isn't the greatest ever, and it's a little strange that the owner and no more than one other person run the bar and wait on all the tables even on a relatively busy Saturday night. But the food is so good it still earns 5 stars. Extremely fresh, flavorful, and authentic. Best Chinese food in Beverly hands down. And even though he's trying to serve the whole restaurant himself, owner is very friendly and helpful. Please support this place, cause the food is tremendous, and maybe if they stay busy enough, they can hire one more server to help out.

I am back in Boston Visiting. (After my move to Philly last month) and I came here again. I am surprised that I gave it 4 stars previously cause as I am enjoying my usual rebel I realize this really is as good as it gets. I love the food and genuine niceness of the staff is great!

This location is one of the best in town. After the remodel this place opened its doors with a force and ready for the masses that had missed their neighborhood Chick-fil-A. The staff is always friendly inside and out even if they stand out in eminent of Austin. The food is always very good Only once have I had a problem with some cold french fries and once brought to attention it was taken care of promptly.
