Buffet Palace

📍 Address: 4608 West Gate Blvd, Austin

Stars: (3.5)

Eating sushi that is not fresh is like eating roadkill. Ewww. If you are going to a place with "buffet" in the title, I guess you are looking for quantity, not quality. Here, you will certainly find lots and lots of food, ranging from more greasy to less greasy. Is it good? Sometimes. I would eat the sushi if I see them replace the dish. If you must go, go when it will be the most crowded to get the freshest food.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

📍 Address: 117 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

Great chicken, as the name says itself! Not a huge fan of fried chicken but I cannot deny that this place has made me want to come back for more. Came here on a Sunday evening around 6pm and the place wasn't too busy. Service was good and prompt, and the food came out ~10mins after being ordered. The price is generous, as you can get a 3 piece dark meat, which comes with 2 thighs and leg with two sides (baked beans, slaw) and a slice of bread for about ~$8. You can sub the sides for different sides with a small additional fee. I got the three piece dark and subbed my sides for potato salad and mac n cheese. Proceed to their website for more info on the menu. Gusfriedchicken.com Parking isn't the best, as it is all street parking, which are free on Sundays! Overall, check out the place if you want to try some good tender juicy chicken, if you are a fan of fried chicken, you will love Gus's!

The Breakfast Club

📍 Address: 270 Western Ave, Allston

Stars: (4)

One of the best breakfast places in the area. If you go any time past 10 on a weekend you most likely will be waiting a while for a table but there does seem to be spots at the bar. The food is pretty cheap keeping it in the diner category. The bacon egg and cheese is by far my favorite indulgence. They have a wide variety and I always seem to leave pleased. They never try to rush you out which is always nice so you can sit and enjoy your meal. The only down side is you do need a car if you don't love close because it is not located near the t.

Veracruz All Natural

📍 Address: 2505 Webberville Rd, Austin

Stars: (4.5)

Best quick tacos in Austin. These trucks deliver. Whatever you get, try their red salsa - it's awesome. The homemade salsa is also great - big chunks of avocado! Personally, I love the steak tacos, and the breakfast tacos are a great value at $2 each. Bean and cheese with bacon - can't go wrong.

Punjab Palace

📍 Address: 109 Brighton Ave, Allston

I am SOOO going back here as soon as possible... Seriously, this is one of those places that you only WISH you could find- and once you do find it, you can't believe you found it because it's so awesome. Yeah- Yesterday me and my GF were doing a "Best of Yelp" tour around Boston. We were in the mood for Indian, and Punjab showed up as one of the top hits. I'm glad it did... While finding and paying for parking in this area might be rough, it's worth it in the end... Inside Punjab you'll find a very well kept, modern, and friendly atmosphere... The waiter I had was VERY attentive and filled my water at least 5-6 times lol... The kitchen line looked very sharp, and very clean... Cloth Napkins, too! How classy lol... The Food was very good. From the several curries I tried, to the naan, pasta, finger foods and white rice- everything tasted outstanding. Nothing was too spicy for little old white guy me, and everything was full of flavor. The price tag seems a bit steep for lunch, but when you factor in the quality of the food you're getting, it seems about fair. Near the end, I had a chance to speak with the host. He told me how they offer different dishes everyday and he appreciated us stopping by! Kindness and good customer service go a long way, and i figured I'd spread the love over here to Yelp! 5 Stars, I will be back, soon!
