Giuseppe's Ritrovo

📍 Address: 2268 E Main St, Columbus

Went there to try their food and the spaghetti and meat balls were terrible. The meat balls tasted like it was filled with crackers and the texture was too soft. I personally had the penne with salmon and it was too salty.... the pasta was undercooked. The portions were very small. I will not go back. I have had better at local pizza shops.

Blue Star Donuts

📍 Address: 1155 SW Morrison St, Ste 102, Portland

Did not disappoint. The maple bacon donut is fantastic. Not too over the top with bacon flavor. Well balanced. I could eat a meyer lemon and key lime curd donut everyday for the rest of my life. Bourbon blueberry basil was just right. Again, completely balanced with savory hints from the basil and bourbon. Better than Voodoo, just saying.

I have to say the Sweet Heat brought me here all the way from the Bay. I first tried the Sweet Heat on tap at Beer Revolution in Oakland, while with my friends Mariela and Megan. The Sweet Heat is an Apricot Scottish Bonnet Pepper Beer that is truly unique. I say this because I am a huge fan of spicy beers and try to sample them all. When I got to Portland, I told my guy about it and he told me that Burnside was in Portland. Oh happy day. What could be better? Arriving at Burnside on Zwicklemania, amongst tons of beer lovers who wouldn't let the rain stand in the way of beer sampling. Each sample was $1, so we tried them all. They were all pretty great. The Uni was so unique. The Chocolate was great. The Sweet Heat is my favorite, hands down. After said and done we were ready to go. We had sampled over 30 beers so far that day between the two and we were ready for the next location.

Little piece of Heaven. Order the cheese plate with the beer pairings. Absolutely fantastic.

Modern City Chinese Restaurant

This place is ok. The Xiao lung bao is good but the other things are so so. The food is around $13 to $17 per plate for dinner. The food is a bit oily. Ordered the cashew shrimp and there were not a lot of shrimps. This is a plus. But not sure if this is a Shanghai dish. I also got the duck and that was not bad. Its pretty good for the first couple pieces. Next dish I ordered was the beef and bun. The beef was a bit slimy and overly sweet. It doesn't taste right. The bun was ok. But isn't fluffy at all. I am surprised that this restaurant isn't busy at all. Its actually pretty empty. Not sure how long it will last. Decor is ok. Nothing special. Mediocre

Terry Black's Barbecue

📍 Address: 1003 Barton Springs Rd, Austin

Amazing atmosphere. If you haven't been you must go it is a cafeteria style so there is a long line but you get through it quickly. The wait is worth it for the amazing food. Would not recommend the macaroni and cheese as it's very tasteless and watery but everything else was brilliant. Great night out!
